Description of Zoo Med Turtle Gallon Tanks

Stable, self-leveling dock automatically adjusts to all water levels. Underwater ramp leads to comfortable, faux-rock basking area. Suction Cups securely anchor dock to your Aquarium glass wall holding the dock in place while allowing it to move up and down with the water level.

Perfect for our 18x18 hatched turtle terrarium. A full review.

We added this fairly large deck (big for the small size) to our 18x18 terrarium for a hatched painted turtle. It was instant love for the turtle and for us. Despite being small (about half a dollar tall), he immediately climbed onto a floating log-shaped island and happily began to warm himself. It is good that the island does not sink under the weight and bounces well on plastic floating cables that allow water to fill or evaporate without lifting the dock out of the water. Although our turtle

Became food for turtles, like the others.

My red-eared slider eats part of the ramp too. My friend had to relocate her turtle a few years ago so I took her in as I have experience caring for turtles. I got his tank, swim platform, etc. I noticed that the platform I got was missing about 1/3 of the ramp so I figured it was worn out and replaced it. A little later I caught my turtle in the act. I watched him tear off a small piece and eat it. He didn't stop there, and now I know why the original was missing a big chunk. I don't…

It would be great. But he throws!

Advantages: This platform is large and can support 1.5# RES. My turtle is about 6.5-7 inches long. The UPPER suction cups will stick, not the lower ones. But that seems to be enough to hold it in place and keep my turtle afloat. Cons: The platform seems to be reset. Pieces of it are constantly floating around - sometimes "pieces of wood", sometimes (mostly) some shiny substance. I've washed that thing 100 times but it doesn't matter. I expect this crap will damage my filter (canister - costs 3x

Comes without suction cups

I ordered their largest version of the turtle dock and am not disappointed with the size in my 40 gallon breeding tank. However, without suction cups! Luckily I already had a small dock that I was using and was able to remove 4 suction cups from it to use on a larger dock (thank god they're universal!). However, I did plan on using a smaller dock in a 10 gallon tank if I needed to clean the tank and such, but had to scrap the idea. Overall this is a beautifully made dock that is great for young

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

When I first bought a Zoo Med Turtle Dock it came with all the advertised parts. It shouldn't be too difficult as it comes with a docking station, a bracket to attach the docking station to the tank and four suction cups. six things. Actually three since the suction cups came together in one bag. Then we got two more turtles and I decided to buy a second dock. And then the defendant snapped, Your Honor. Came without suction cups. It's okay, I thought, the next day I'll drive by the same shop…

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
