Your chain is slipping

My old derailleur was replaced with this one only to find it wasn't producing enough tension even after shortening the chain. Yes I am taking the bike to a pro to have it checked and that was his response. I had to buy another switch that works perfectly.

Pros
  • Easy adjustment
Cons
  • Reliability

Does the job well

My front derailleur had a broken jockey wheel and was missing a bolt. The total cost would be close to this derailleur, so I decided to just bolt it to my bike. I've ridden it for hundreds of miles with no problems. I would buy it again if I needed it for another bike.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some problems

That's a good switch.

I couldn't find a breakdown for my bike. So I went with a hanger. I'm pleasantly surprised it worked so well. It's adjustable and way better than the one I just smashed. I used a drill and a self tapping screw to hold it in place and plan on trimming off the excess. Usually 1/2 of our work.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • So far so good

Good Shimano derailleur.

Good Shimano rear derailleur. Works well. Shifts smoothly. Item arrived on time and packaged in perfect condition. Used to replace the old model. Installs exactly the same as the previous one. The chain must be split and fed through the derailleur and then reassembled. : 30 minute job with the right tools.

Pros
  • practical item

Not Recommended - Parts and Components

[*UPDATE* Product broke after several months of occasional use. No longer recommended.] I needed a rear derailleur to replace my teen's broken bike. I've never changed any of them, and there were no instructions. However, there are various YouTube videos that have helped. My kid says it works fine!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

New Shimano rear derailleur

Easy to install Shimano product. Bought as a replacement for my completely worn out Shimano. I've followed all the videos down to adjusting the limit screws and barrel adjuster but I can only get the two gears on the back to work. I think if I use 3 gears in the front I get 6 gears! I may need to replace the derailleur and front cable to make it work.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

It helps to have a visual aid.

Taking my laptop apart was less frustrating than installing this one, but I think it's more of a personal quirk. An extra pair of hands would probably make this task easier. Laying the chain was key and I had to go from the work bike to the setup to get it right. I finally got it and didn't have to pay anyone else. The product worked great.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Not so bad for $20!

So far so good! I waited a while before reviewing this switch. For the price this is a good choice! If only my daughter had traded in her old broken Shimano for this one and I had just advised and mentored. She had no problems installing or setting up/setting up. Been riding it hard enough for a few weeks now, no problems. Retuned after the first rides as expected after an agility break. It's been strong ever since! The spare wheel would certainly not regret it in an emergency.

Pros
  • Outstanding overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Real metal switches, accurate and easy to set up.

Bought to replace a broken tournament. It's marked Shimano SIS but I'm pretty sure it's fake. One of the gears was a little tight, but it was very easy to loosen the screw slightly. Otherwise I'm really excited! Full metal body and very easy to install and index. Out of the box it seemed like the cap was set to 6 speeds, but it was very easy to set up. After dialing the number it works great! again as a budget option for the pendant switch.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price
