Zulay Authentic Bamboo Pizza Peel Review

Yes, it's big and heavy. But he's also cool and strong. Cleaning can be a pain because it can't be washed in the dishwasher, but it's really no big deal. Reliable product, I buy a bundle from Zulay with no problems. This is a Florida company.

I got this because my family takes and bakes pizza every Tuesday. It was the perfect solution. My wife loves the look and keeps it in plain sight in the kitchen when not in use. Its function is simple, but the beveled edges allow for easy use from all sides.

I love the weight and size of my Ooni Fyra stove. I'm worried about burning it in a hot oven during startup, but so far so good. This is beautiful wood. It feels great in my hand. The pizza starts out light - light flour and some Italian seasoned breadcrumbs (which I had at home).

We've had it for about 3 weeks and it's only been hand washed and tumble dried. The board is continuously divided on both sides. I have 10-15 year old wooden cutting boards that hold up better than this board. Disappointed, will buy a better one. Otherwise a good size and shape and a fairly long handle. Just disappointed with poor quality.

This is a well made pizza peel. It has a nice smooth surface and is easy to wipe clean. It's strong enough to carry a fairly heavy pizza with ease. Pizza lovers tend to be generous with toppings and make heavy pizzas, and this bowl has no weight issues. We use it with a pizza smoker and it works great for that purpose.

I had problems with pizza dough sticking to the metal scoop. Covered with a very, very thin layer of flour, the pizza slides easily off the skin of the Zulai bamboo and into the oven. However, the bevel is not thin enough to get under the pizza, which needs to be turned over shortly after being placed in the oven. To do this, you still need a metal bowl to get under the crust with one quick movement. But for creating a cake and starting a cake, this bowl is awesome!

This is a very durable bamboo skin that appears to be well made and can easily take some cutter/pizza cutter damage. It's a lot thicker and heavier than my previous scrub, so I had to change my transfer technique a bit. It has survived multiple washes in a month and shows no signs of tearing. I expect this will be the last scrub I will ever have, but I also plan to make some changes to better suit my needs.
