I tried a 1/2" bleed bit. Approached but a little lost. For the second one I used a 3/8" drill bit. I had to open the hole up a bit with a mallet, but this made for a much tighter seal. I think 7/16 would be the right size. It would also be impractical to believe that no gas would escape if the can were tipped on its side. If the gas squirts into the bottle, everything is fine, but it does not prevent a leak. So far I have overfilled my lawn mower 3 times in a short time. Be sure prepared for the gas to flow and stop flowing sooner than you think.
