    Easy to install and operate.

Fairly easy to install, would have been better if it came with double sided foam tape and/or mounting screws. But in fact it works fine, lowers the voltage correctly, tested with a multimeter at the output of about 12V. Easy enough to connect. Hope it lasts a few seasons. I will update if not.

    OK, but not for long.

Bought 3 of these for e-bike and scooter. 2 of the 36v to 12v stopped working in less than a couple of weeks with light use. Only about 30-50 watts are consumed, a 36V 12.5Ah e-bike battery is connected to it. So far, 48V to 12V still work, let's see how long that lasts. Note that while 48V to 12V is advertised as the 40-60V range, it will also work fine with 12V, 24V, or 36V.

Seems to work fine but I only use one or two amps

Seems to work pretty well. I can over-voltage it a bit at 52V and I'm definitely NOT drawing 10 amps or even close. But it works great and doesn't get hot when running multiple LEDs on an electric quad. There are many of these on the web that have a very different performance, so I think it's a gamble if you buy one of these specific Chinese items. I got lucky this time.

Adding 12v accessories to a golf cart

I have a 2019 club car that I wanted to add 12v accessories to. This is a 48v setup so I connected the first and last battery. It easily handles the 24-inch bazooka party bar, LED running lights, and LED lights around the roof. Runs cool and causes no noticeable performance changes or battery drain. Everything draws less than 7 amps, so there's room for at least one other accessory.

    • Hands-free operation

    • Minor issues

Does actually work in the advertised voltage range

I didn't really think it would convert the whole 8-40v range to 13.8v. I connected it to a desktop power supply and to my surprise it actually works as advertised. It boosts the low voltage to 13.8V and drops the high voltage to 13.8V. It's NOT EXACT at 13.8V over the whole range, but it varies by a maximum of 0.2V. My PSU can only go up to 32 V, but I'm assuming it will work up to the advertised 40V. I have no way of applying a 10A load, but it handles a 4A load with ease.

Absolutely necessary when lowering the DC voltage.

I have a golf cart with six 48 volt 8 volt batteries. The previous owner installed the headlights and hooked up the first two batteries, 16 volts, to the 12 volt headlights instead of installing a buck. After burning 4 batteries I found this "workaround" which resulted in uneven battery drain and overcharge. This resulted in the first two batteries failing within a year, two years in a row. I installed this step down converter to drop 48 volts down to 12 volts which resulted in the battery…

A simple way to power 12V accessories on the eBike.

I needed to add a 12v accessory to a 48v powered e-bike. I calculated that the total current from my 12v accessory would be less than 3 amps. This 10A module is more than enough to get the job done and gives me the freedom to add additional 12V devices if I feel like it. Some reviewers noted the presence of a spark when connecting the input power wires, even with no load. This is normal, so don't worry. This is caused by the "buck" inductance used in its voltage step-down circuit. For…

Works great and delivers exactly 12 volts

I had a problem with my solar panel for my electric fence, the power pack didn't work because as soon as the power pack got more than 12 volts it just stopped working (obviously it has built-in surge protection). I needed a way to ensure no more than 12 volts were being delivered to the power supply. The place we bought it from had a couple of diodes in the circuit just used for the voltage drop to drop the voltage from the battery down to 12 volts. That struck me as hacky and unreliable. I…
