I used this to make brake lines on my truck. Use nickel-copper tubing, anything harder will only make the job harder. The pipe likes to slip through the clamp, so you'll have to tighten the wing nuts with a screwdriver or something. The tool requires some effort, so be sure to use a softer hose. Overall it works and I haven't crashed yet so I'll call it a win.

Bought this metric fitting brake line flare kit to install the brake valve on Miata. The tool worked well - I only had to repeat one flash out of four, which I thought was fine. It's a little fiddly to use, especially on a brake line attached to a car, but I don't think that's really the tool's fault. terrible workmanship. I'd be ok with some damage to the pipe or rough/sharp edges, but for holes drilled at an angle, that's overkill! I was under the impression that I was doing something wrong until I realized the clamp holes were drilled at an angle (look at 3/16 and you'll see what I mean). There's nothing like buying flare kits, finding a duplicate flare kit out of the bunch and paying more for that kit, only to find out it's the only kit is that does not include a cord cutter. Of course I understand that there is no cutter in the picture. but somehow in a hodgepodge of all sorts of different sets, I didn't notice. That's right, which wood set doesn't come with a router?
