worked 20 minutes.

I was able to set up a modem with my ISP (Centrylink) with a few modem settings provided by my ISP. Everything worked great, even if it went through my wireless router. Then I tried to tweak things a bit. I manually edited the DHCP scope that the modem distributes, rebooted and nothing. Couldn't connect to modem no matter what I tried or how many systems I connected directly. Since there was nothing I could do, I tried resetting it. The reset button didn't work. If you already have a router, you probably don't need all the bells and whistles that go with it, and not being able to disable them can give you a headache . Among other things, this modem can register with your PPP information and also has a DHCP server. This may not be a modem for advanced users

Considering the ratings were so high and the design is new I'm definitely disappointed in this product although it works pretty well so I felt it deserved a three star rating. My previous modem lasted many years and was very popular for many years but I think it's finally reached the end of its life so I bought it. 3 hours to set up and not done yet

An interesting problem is that the modem communicates with my ISP (ATT), my wireless router works when connected to my old modem but not this one Modem. Of course, Actiontec tech support freaked me out and said they weren't the problem. However, I'm curious that the router still works with my old modem, so it's not a router setup issue.
