Description of πŸ”§ ARES 42041: Premium 72-Tooth Stubby Ratchet and Bit Driver - High-Quality Construction & Reversible Direction Head

SPECIFICATIONS: Our 1/4-Inch Drive 72-Tooth Stubby Ratchet and Bit Driver is made of Chrome Vanadium steel with a mirror polish chrome finish for enhanced durability. This ratchet's dual socket and bit driver head features a 72-tooth ratcheting mechanism that makes it the perfect tool for getting the job done fast. DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: The reversible 72-tooth ratcheting mechanism only needs a 5-degree swing arc to operate while maintaining maximum torque, and the drive direction can easily be changed with a flick of the thumb switch on the back of the ratchet head. WHY YOU NEED IT: Measuring only 3 5/16 inches in total length, this dual purpose ratchet and bit driver allows you to have the enhanced clearance you need in today's tight and confined engine compartment with knurling on the handle for non-slip use. This ratchet meets and exceeds ASME torque performance standards. RELIABLE | EFFECTIVE | EFFICIENT: Users trust ARES to be quality tools. Convenient for tight spaces, but strong enough for regular use!

I've added this for those tight spots where a "normal" 1/4" ratchet wouldn't fit. Use it on a lot of 1/4" materials anyway.

Pros
  • WHY YOU NEED IT: At just 3 5/16 inches overall, this dual-purpose ratcheting screwdriver allows you to increase the clearance you need in today's cramped and cramped engine compartment, with a knurled grip to prevent slips. . This ratchet meets and exceeds ASME torque standards.
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Good ratchet for interior work

Well, let's start with the fact that I work as a mechanic. I love this little ratchet for under dash work. 72 gears are great for tight spaces. The price is reasonable, unlike rigging, that doesn't mean I don't have rigging. But when it comes to interior work, the tool gets lost a little more often than usual.

Great little ratchet

Working with small items such as appliances, carburetors, computers etc. I have small sets of Torx, SAE and metric hex bits and sets of small sockets, they all work with this ratchet. The short extension also comes in handy for increasing reach and since this ratchet has both 1/4" and hex drive, this is my little ratchet. A very good useful tool.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Well weighted and excellent ratchet

I ordered three of these and was glad I did. I kept one for myself and gave two to my colleagues. We've been using them for a few weeks now and they're fantastic. They feel solid and sturdy in your hand, the ratchet is smooth yet flawless, and the dual capacity 1/4" head and 1/4" bit tip is the perfect combination of two tools in one.

  • Wrench
Cons
  • Legacy model

Tiny ratchet for almost impossible places

Bought this ratchet specifically for the almost inaccessible left hand distributor nut on an MGB when installing a Moss supercharger. A really complex access problem made relatively easy. Moss should include this ratchet in the compressor kit. It seems well made and the 72 tooth ratchet is really useful in tight spaces. This ratchet will certainly find many more uses in the future.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
