Both filters are bad. Buy online only

I buy these filters all the time but they are out of stock on the Berkley website. So I decided to buy them here. Both filters clogged my shower head with dirt. My backwash is fine and both filters are filled with sand and debris. I had to throw them away and am now waiting for Berkeley to restock this product. I spent a lot of money on these filters. From now on I will only buy online. Lesson learned.

This filter works great. I've seen several reviews saying it is.

This filter works great. I saw several reviews saying it didn't work. Then I saw pictures of a person they had posted and it was installed upside down. then it has an exit check. some people are really just ignorant. Read a few instructions first. Or contact the company to make sure you installed it properly before scolding the product. This filter has always worked for me without any problems.

Broke on first use causing a big mess

This filter is more expensive than other filters I've looked at so I was expecting something good. I installed the filter, turned on the water and after about 30 seconds the filter split in two, dropped the shower head on the floor and spilled the inside of the filter onto itself and my shower. Looking at the broken filter it's obvious that it cracked because it wasn't glued together properly and the only thing holding it together is a silver sticker in the middle of the filter. Clean up the…

  • Great for outdoor activities

  • Little repairability

Buyer Warning! Both filters exploded in our showers.

The first non-shower filter my husband installed worked. Then he installed a second filter with no shower head in our other bathroom. As soon as it was turned into the water, the shower filter exploded onto the floor with sand, gravel and 1/2 of the filter. I called Revain and got a refund. Now 2 weeks later while taking a shower the first filter came loose and exploded in my shower. I took photos of both incidents, but the app doesn't allow me to upload them. They made a real mess. I wonder if

Actual measurements show it doesn't work with my water

Doesn't work with my water. According to the instructions and a call to Berkley, free chlorine reduction can be affected by the presence of chloramines in your water. My community (Sarasota, Florida) uses chloramines and the filter does not reduce chlorine at all. Before the filtering on 08/31/15, my water measured 2.0 ppm free chlorine and 5.5 ppm chloramines. After passing through the KDSF shower filter, the free chlorine content was 2.0 ppm and the chloramine content was 3.5 ppm…

Works with iron-rich well water, but don't forget BACKWASH!

Installed this shower filter exactly 5 months ago and it has worked very well with our spring water alongside the water softener (we have a very heavy iron). In the last 2 months I've noticed my soap and shampoo not working at all - my face is full of pimples, my skin is dry and itchy, and my hair doesn't color properly and has a sticky but dry texture. I went back to Revain to find out how long it had been and maybe it already needed replacing? One of the other reviewers mentioned backwashing…

Turns hard LA tap water into acceptable water for New Yorkers

This filter literally changed my life. If you're annoyed with dirty tap water in Los Angeles or any other place with hard tap water, this filter will do wonders for not only filtering out chlorine, but also filtering out hard tap water. I recently moved to Los Angeles from New York. and while it may seem like an exaggeration, the hard tap water in Los Angeles has left my hair dull and crusty and my scalp dry and itchy. It was a completely alien experience for someone used to soft, shiny hair…

Hair went from dry and dull to soft and shiny in just a few washes.

I recently moved into an apartment in Arlington. A few days after moving in, I noticed that my hair felt extra dry and porous no matter what expensive conditioner I put on it. I also noticed my skin was itchy after showering. I also noticed an occasional smell of sulfur or chlorine coming from the faucets. I mentioned this to a neighbor and she said the water in the area was very hard - so hard that sediment could be seen in water glasses. After doing some research online, I realized that my…
