Great alternative to the mortar sack

They save time and are much better than the mortar sack. I used it for a thin set to apply to granite tiles. I don't understand all the complaints about not being able to remove the plug. The only problem I had was finding it after it popped like a champagne cork after using some air from my compressor in the threaded end to blow it out. A piece of cake.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • So-so

Works well but difficult to reuse

These caulking tubes were used for grouting tile joints. They did a surprisingly good job on this project. They are well made and of good quality. Very satisfied. Using a funnel to fill will help prevent a mess. I could imagine that they might be less suitable for thicker materials. It's quite difficult to retract the piston after use, even if it's pre-lubricated. I would call them disposable, not reusable.

  • Weight
Cons
  • Thin

You saved me so much time.

I used these on carpet glue which only came in a gallon can. I made a funnel out of some pieces of tape and carefully poured it in, then discarded the tape and put it back on. The back panels are difficult to fully pull on as they create a tight air seal and internal pressure. After cutting off the tip, quickly unscrew the pointed tip as the substance will flow out and you can push the backing in all the way.

Pros
  • Sealant
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Wrong pipe tip! Do not buy!

DO NOT BUY! I just received them and opened the box to see the product and found that the applicator tip that came with it WILL NOT FIT IN THESE TUBES! Photos show it! I checked every tube and tip and found that all 8 tubes have large threads at the top and the tip has a much smaller threaded tip! They won't work in any way and you can't just buy a tip big enough for this tube. waste of my money!

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Will be added later

Consumables cannot be refilled

These tubes have proven to be very good for grouting the ceiling panels we manufacture. We made large batches and filled tubes. The tubes we used later were as fresh as the first tube, so they didn't dry out. The product description states that the tubes are reusable. To reuse the tubes, the back must be slid out of the tube. This was not possible after using mortar in them. However, I would buy them again for this task as they were exactly what we needed. I would consider them consumable only,

Pros
  • Adhesives, sealants and lubricants
Cons
  • Small parts
