The lighter caught fire in 5 minutes

I've tried this twice already. I was careful not to overfill, but two attempts with this lighter resulted in the lighter completely engulfing the flame. Apparently the o-ring isn't enough if the lighter heats up after it's been on for a few minutes. Maybe the lighter is meant to be used momentarily to light a pipe or something, so it's not considered a hazard - or maybe I got a broken lighter. In any case, as much as I love the looks, I don't think this is a safe product.

The only non-Zippo lighter I use all the time

This lighter was a pleasant surprise; The style is very close to the styles of the old lighters but with current modifications. The quality of this lighter is easily comparable to Zippo. Unlike Zippo, this lighter has a convenient closed tank, so the liquid lasts much longer. I've been using it for a few months now and I have no regrets. Check out some photos. Well made and will stand up to daily use and wear and tear without issue. All I had to do was replace the wick and used a locally…

Very high quality, low price

I am very impressed with the quality of this lighter. Its weight is substantial and there's no feeling that the corners have been cut in any way. Zippo can learn a thing or two from using seals in this lighter, the liquid in this lighter seems to last a lot longer than my Zippo lighter. The hinge on the top is the only moving part that I think can cause problems over time, but I seriously doubt it will with proper handling. Otherwise it's a tank, very durable and quite heavy in hand…

Works great and looks great!

This was my second one I got as I lost my first. These are the best lighters I've ever had. Easy to use, refill etc. The second one arrived loose and wasn't tight enough to hold it between the outer shell and the LPG filling inside. Lastly I took 3/4" duct tape and applied two coats around the top edges on the inside of the lighter body and this was perfect for keeping it tight and easy down/up when it needs to be refilled to keep everything in is okay. as long as it works! I like the fact that

It's better than any Zippo I've ever owned. Period.

I cannot recommend this lighter enough. It worked great right out of the box. Filled it up and it fired the first hit every time for about two months. At this point I've replaced the whip, viscose balls and flint with Zippo parts (I have extras) and I'm confident that at this point this thing can still attempt to ignite underwater. The closed tank design stores fuel better than any Zippo I've ever owned, and there are many, and while it's a bit smaller than even vintage Japanese Zippo's, it…

Fantastic lighter for lighters and matches

This is excellent value for money. The lighter makes a very robust and well-made impression. I've been using it for a month or two now, I carry it with me all day every day. Looks fantastic and surprisingly the bronze finish hasn't worn off yet. I'm sure it will eventually, but the patina will really only add to the visual appeal. The sealed O-ring design absolutely works. As I said, I've been using this thing every day for quite some time (I smoke about two packs a day) and have only had to…

but I like it in my lighters, and in my opinion that means .

Like many others I am totally shocked. There is some weight to this lighter but I like it in my lighters and in my opinion it means better quality and not cheap metal that doesn't last long. Everything about this lighter is sleek, and honestly, Zippo should take some notes on that. I know that Zippo is a lighter that has been around for many years and keeps its design, but I have to say that this lighter is superior. The only thing I will miss about my Zippo is the good old sound it makes when…

Twice as long as the best lighters and matches

This is a good little lighter. About the same volume as a Zippo 8ml liquid +/- (although this is about the same volume, it won't fit in a Zippo belt clip). It's shorter but wider than the Zippo. I ran out of fluid today. Filled up 8 days ago. That's twice as long as a Zippo lasts (for me). When refilling, I put my old Zippo, which I had refilled the day before, on the shelf in front of the door. I checked the Zippo today and it was bone dry. Aside from an excellent system that prevents the…

Compared to Zippo: wick life in exchange for fuel life.

So the worst thing about the Zippo is that within a month of fully loading the Zippo, the fuel evaporates to zero even if you put it on the shelf and don't use the place where the liquid evaporates. I can safely say that it works very well. When I filled it up, used it very sparingly, and then checked it after a month, I found that the lighter had leaked very little liquid. At the end of the fuel economy spectrum, it's vastly superior to a lighter (unless you want to cheat). BUT the o-ring…
