This product reduces your WiFi speed by less than half.

This product will significantly reduce your WiFi speed. I noticed this when I lowered my internet speed to 40Mbps. I turned off all my WiFi devices at home and only connected one device and stayed close to that device (about 5 feet) and tested the speed. I measured 5MB/s over Wi-Fi and 40MB/s over Ethernet. This is madness. I will throw this machine away and buy another model.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Stock availability

Works great - easy setup However, I had a problem about a month later when CenturyLink turned off my internet and said I mean don't pay the bill. Since I pay automatically, it was pointless. CenturyLink Payments Customer Service was clueless, but Tech Support found out. The modem still had previous owner information listed. They helped me enter the correct identification (a gibberish code only they would know) - problem solved! If you buy a modem from someone other than CenturyLink, even if the

Broken cable Best in networking products

The power cord is not securely attached to the modem - it slips off as soon as I let go. Cannot get power unless I physically hold the power cord. If I hold the power cord and plug in the green wire from the phone jack, I don't get a steady DSL light. So the DSL cable might not work either. There is no way to contact the seller (World 1 Direct) but Revain will send me new cables. I won't know if the modem works until I get new cables. Then I will update the rating. Update: Revain has sent new…

I'm glad I read all the instructions.

I have been using CenturyLink DSL for years and because they required filters on all phone jacks my old (perfectly working) Westell modem was plugged into the filtered jack. Since my old router that connected to this modem died and we couldn't connect a popular brand new router, we decided to buy the C1100Z. I made a double guess when reading the modem review on the CL Support Center and realizing that the C1100Z should NOT use a filtered outlet as it has a built in filter. A read that saved me

It works with a little help

I purchased this wireless gateway as a recommended upgrade from CenturyLink's technical support team for an originally shipped Zyxel C1000Z wireless gateway that was not working for the past few months. The device has been online for a little over a week and after initially requiring assistance from CenturyLink's technical support team to resolve issues with proper internet connectivity, it is working flawlessly. So far, its performance has been similar to that of the Zyxel C1000Z. Wireless…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Basically a limited functionality version of the ZyXEL VSG-1432 running the Busybox Linux 2.3 kernel. It features a NAND MTD file system with a CFE bootloader and a Broadcom chipset. Both C1100Z and VSG-1432 are xDSL modems, PPPoE clients and WAN router gateways with a 2.4GHz WiFi radio. They were introduced about 5 years ago and support both ADSL and VDSL. CenturyLink is a coalition of companies with different levels of equipment in different markets, so a modem that supports ADSL and VDSL…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Nothing here

I couldn't afford a new one so I decided to buy a used one. It was great shopping from this company. Set up was easy for me and I am 70 years old with very little computer experience. This modem/router was recommended by a field engineer. I like owning my own gear instead of renting it and paying monthly.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Insecure

Xyxel doesn't have a good reputation when it comes to modems I guess.

If I could give this product no stars to write a review, this would be my choice. I've had 3 of these and they all stopped working at some point or just assumed the one I'm using now has to go offline 2 or 3 times a day and then plug it back in because of the same issue. (Cannot find DNS server for domain names.) I have decided to upgrade my service with Century Link. At first I was told that a new modem through them would cost $100, but then when I actually spoke to someone it was actually…

. it worked out of the box and did a great job.

I give 1 star because it was ready to use and worked perfectly for 7 months. Then it died. Then the most interesting began. DO NOT buy this item. Zyxel does not provide a 12-month warranty and you cannot get a refund through Revain. I contacted Zyxel twice through Revain and they didn't even acknowledge me. I will try to contact them directly if possible. I replaced this device with a Motorola (for Centurylink) and it works great. Easy to set up and I know Motorola will honor their warranty.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
