Very handy for power supplies

I have used these to power tube heaters instead of TO-220 linear regulators. Now I don't have to worry about heat or heatsinks, and they're not that much larger or more expensive than their linear counterparts. However, be careful with the trimmer. They are easy to break. A small issue I had is that the pinholes are not multiples of 0.1" so they don't fit perfectly on a standard breadboard, but close enough that you can easily slide them in with some pin clearance.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Excellent value for money, works great

Pack of 20 individually wrapped in anti-static foil. 17 were perfect, one overheated, one had no output and one had a faulty potentiometer but worked fine with a spare potentiometer. I usually use them to drive 3.3V esp8266 modules. I tested with 13.5V input. The output was 12V +/- 1V as received. Trimmed to 3.3V with no load and applied a 10 ohm pull-up resistor for a 330mA load. The output typically dropped by 20 mV. Great value for money but devices need to be tested before use. There would…

  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers

NOT MP2307, high failure rate

For starters, this is NOT an MP2307 chip, it's an MP1484. The MP1484 is a cheaper little brother with a smaller input range and lower efficiency. If you tell me it's MP2307 in the description and you give me something else, well. It's dishonesty at best, cheating at worst, brother. So far, 50% of devices do nothing when turned on. Trimpot is possibly the cheapest e-waste from China. It's bulky, difficult to set up, and the output voltage will fluctuate around +/- 0.4 volts before leveling off…

5 out of 20 worked.

Transducers arrived on a large circuit board with dashed lines connected together. Came with a clear case which was nice. Had high hopes for these converters as they are very small making them great for projects where space is not a luxury. Unfortunately, only 5 out of 20 converters made a difference. The remaining 15 did absolutely nothing when connected to a 12V network. There is no voltage on the output rails no matter what position the potentiometer is in. However, the ones that worked…
