Don't waste time

The solder on the board was terrible. Two burned out immediately when connected, and the other three simply did not let any voltage through. I can't even say you get what you pay for because you get absolutely nothing with them.

GREAT. Do not buy this brand.

This is TERRIBLE! I've tried three so far and all three have been useless. They just pulse on and off. You can't even power the esp8266-01 line. I have successfully used very similar ones from other brands. I don't know if it's a bad batch or a bad supplier. Also other user's advice on changing the solder points didn't work. Just pure garbage.

A DOA and two others were tested under specification

Of the 5 3.3V buck converters, the first was DOA. The second one I installed could only source enough current for a 100mA device. The third block was tested in exactly the same way as the second, only being able to supply around 100 mA. I didn't bother with the other two devices. I only needed about 175mA to power my device and it couldn't deliver it. I do not recommend these.

How to get 3.3V power supplies

Don't forget to hook up a multimeter or oscilloscope to check what voltage you'll be plugging in. Looking at the opposite side of the board from the main components, next to board u3, 3.3V is too correct. On my board the hole was filled with solder and that's it. This is the best end of the toothpick. I give it 4 stars because so far it works exactly as advertised and is suitable for my use. There is simply no documentation for a beginner DIY.

Reliability sucks

2 stars because only 2 out of 5 boards work. Other pulses are switched on and off even if the DC side is not connected to anything. Even with a 100mA load, they keep switching on and off. To put it mildly, I wasn't impressed. They were bought to make ESP8266 smart sockets. Current draw is minimal as the two I have draw less than 300mA even when transferring and activating the solid state relay so I don't exceed their rating.

Suitable for small loads

Tiny power supply, I have the 12v version As noted by other reviews, the output pins are mislabeled, the middle pin is not connected to anything. the voltage drops to 11.5V and later to 11V and the current is only 0.33A. The smaller fan works fine, measurements show 12V 0.075A. Based on these limited tests I think the device is good will work as long as your load does not exceed 250mA (0.25A) and supplies 3W of power.

Absolute junk!: Power converter

No documentation, board mislabeled (thanks to others for pointing this out in advance), plugged in the first one (no load) and fie! Die in a microsecond. Yes, correctly connected. The second board puts out 3.3 volts (close enough), but the performance is completely unstable. It only powers the ESP8266-12F, but every few seconds the light will start flashing and the ESP will restart. Connected to an alternative power source, everything works. Useful but definitely crappy shot

I received the 9V version which worked best for my application. I needed 9 in total and I figured two packs of 5 would give me 9 and a spare. but . two were DOA and one broke down after just a few weeks of use, even with light use, so I had to order a few more packs to make it last. In my 40+ years of working with electronics I have never encountered a solder as bad as on these boards and I don't just mean the quality of their soldering but the actual chemistry of the solder itself.
