I highly recommend purchasing a Thread Sealing Gasket Maker

This is perfect for my factory transmission cooler lines for my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. I highly recommend buying a shim maker to seal the threads as the transmission fluid was seeping through the threads until I used the shim maker. It would be nice if it came with an o-ring or gasket to seal the threads.

Use with Oil Resistant RTV Gasket Maker

If you buy these don't use teflon tape. Use oil resistant RTV caulk, caulk, or silicone on the 3/8 threads. If you use something else they will leak a lot. My first kit came with a Derale transmission cooler. We used Teflon on two separate trucks and they were leaking at 3/8th threaded ports. I noticed that the 5/16 compression fitting is also leaking a bit. I've thought about fixing the fitting in case it comes loose while driving on the road, but haven't used it yet. Good quality fitting

This is a good quality solid brass fitting, assembled as intended. I bought mine to connect my existing 5/16" steel transmission coolant lines to a 3/8" flex hose when installing a new offline transmission cooler ahead of the radiator/condenser. This isn't a common size combination, so it was helpful to find everything together here. If you have a well-stocked hardware store near you, you can assemble all 4 matching parts for this kit separately to save a lot of money. TIP 1: Use pipe sealant…
