Great alternative to use in place of pods

I've wanted to throw out Keurig's ready-to-use pods for a long time, and I've also wanted to grind my own coffee. I knew the taste would be much better if the coffee was freshly ground and I would use less plastic too. When I first started using reusable coffee pods on my own, I found it very difficult to clean them after each use, the ground coffee would get stuck in the strainer and was often difficult to remove. To be honest, I am shocked by the many negative reviews about coffee filter paper. I don't know how others use them, but I have a couple of reusable K-Cups with gold filters. Gold filters let through too much of the finely ground coffee, along with the oils and acids, that come from brewing coffee with hot water. Thin and spotty paper

As other reviewers have recently pointed out, quality issues with these filters become more important when used in 2.0 systems. While my system can aggravate problems, I doubt anyone would consider these high quality filters.
