🔧 Dorman 917-215 VVT Solenoid: Optimize Engine Performance with Select Model Compatibility Review

Works as expected. Installed it on my two GM vehicles. It would be nice if they were painted the same color as the OEM part.

perfect fit and fixed my check engine light. Easy to replace and perfect fit. Only complaint: I wish the sole was painted the same color as the original equipment.

P0013. Engine check has been activated. Modified intake and exhaust solenoids. Codes cleared and fuel saved :). The original solenoids came with a 10mm bolt. New magnets are supplied with a diameter of 8mm. Just to save time folks ;)

I went to the autozone to read the codes and they told me the problem was with the time magnet. After getting a quote from my mechanic, he told me the repair would cost me $180. I just ordered this from Amazon. I changed both valves as I wasn't sure which one was causing the error. Replacing the valves resets all errors.

Replaced both the intake and exhaust on a 2009 Kobalt with the infamous p0013-p0014. (Shown is new intake, old exhaust) I did as others suggested and used an original bolt from the old part (original 10mm bolt, Dorman 8mm bolt). Easy as pie, the hardest part was getting the old one out, it held up pretty well after 8 years and 75,000 miles.

We had a low mileage Chevy HHR but just enough to be out of warranty and then we were given an engine code that goes back to these. We replaced the inlet and outlet at the same time to clean up the code and make sure it's fixed. It would be better if they lasted longer, but the replacement parts we bought lasted at least as long as the stock models before we got rid of them. this terrible car.

There is some confusion as to whether this part will fit Ecotec 2.0T engines (Cobalt SS, Pontiac gxp, Saturn Sky Turbo). Short answer: YES. But remember you need TWO different part numbers. One for inlet and one for outlet. Other 917-016. To check the condition of the part (or your old one) beforehand, measure the resistance between the two terminals. You should get something around 11-13 ohms. And higher or lower and it starts to fail. If you get a high voltage ECU code, it means the…

Replace the inlet and outlet in the process. I used this on 09 g6 2.4 ecotec. It worked great. Part Nos. 917-215 and 917-216. Blow dust, dirt, and sand from the general area before removing anything. 10mm head for removing old, 8mm head for attaching new. Once you've got the old part out (you can rotate them back and forth 10 degrees with the channel locks by pulling them up), you bypass that area and make installing the new one more difficult without messing up.
