The base is too small and the sisal too narrow.

I was sure it was a bug. There was definitely no sisal scratching post in that little box. Well I was wrong. You managed to get in there. There are 2 things that bother me. 1 sisal rope is very narrow. I think my cats will soon gnaw through it with their claws.2 The base is small and light. They've reflashed it many times. It's not good on the ground. Otherwise it's well made, but two fatal flaws break the deal. For a small cat that would probably be fine. But I have adult cats and they areโ€ฆ

Buy two, post them for more durability

I bought one and my cat only scratched a small area. So I twisted and twisted until it finally fell apart. I would say normal use. So I bought another one. Well, it turns out you can combine them into one super post. I threw away the blown top of post #1 as well as the base. So now I have the new base of #2, the bottom of post #2, the bottom of post #1, and the top of post #2. Kitty kills the bottom part #1, I change it to #2, and when she kills her I remove the middle part and let her killโ€ฆ

Awaiting reply from seller

There are no instructions, but how to build a scratching post is pretty obvious. The problem is that the cardboard they use for the lift cylinders is very cheap. I have other posts with cardboard tubes that are twice as thick. This tree fell as soon as the cat jumped on it. I had a spring mount pool but did not attach it to the wall with additional brackets. He fell on the arm of a chair and one of the cardboard tubes broke. The cat was scared, but okay. You'll definitely need to add extraโ€ฆ

Excellent scratching post

My cat loves the sisal scratching post. Another one of hers died so I bought this one. It comes in three parts in a surprisingly small box. The two pole pieces are screwed together and then screwed to the base. After assembly, the whole structure is very solid. My cat is only 10 pounds but has never knocked over a pole. She tends to arch her back and scratch the bottom half or middle of the bar rather than the top. It saved my sofa and the cat is happy. If you've never trained a cat on aโ€ฆ

Cute but unstable

Such a cute pole! It's ideal for small cats that don't carry much weight as the shelves are very short and narrow. The artificial grass does not fuzz and the sisal rope stays in place even after months of use. My main complaint is twofold: the pull rod is difficult to install and unstable. I have 5 cats and bought this for our 3 youngest (2 little cats aged 1.5 years and 1 6 months old). My small cats fly up and down with this thing but even my 8 pounder would tip it over because the pull rodโ€ฆ

Updated Review: After inhaling it for a few weeks my cat loves it

Update: I have yet to make any modifications to make it strong enough to be safe for my kitty , but after soaking it in catnip oil and letting it air out for a few weeks turns out my cat really loves this thing. And it looks pretty cool in space and not too intrusive in our human space. So I am increasing it to 3 stars. I still wish the bar was a foot longer and it could also come with one of those L brackets. If you buy it, be prepared to let it breathe. It smells like super plastic when itโ€ฆ
