Didn't think to measure the part on my gas meter that would make this work. I assumed they were all the same size. The price is so cheap that I'm not even going to send it back. learned my lesson Measure before ordering. Don't ASS U ME, that's enough.

In my opinion, everyone who has a gas meter needs this. I keep it outside by my gas meter until it rusts and holds up well. That way, in an emergency (fire, earthquake, etc.) I don't have to look for the wrench when I need to shut off the gas, it's right there at the shut-off point.

The quality of the wrench is good but maybe too good for my gas meter. Both keyholes were too narrow for me to fit over the rectangular tab on my gauge. I had to sharpen them a little before the key fitted and worked.

Matches perfectly the gas meter valve it was designed for - nothing more nothing less. I especially appreciate the instructions engraved on metal as my mind tends to run away in emergency situations. It hangs in a special place in my house for easy access in an emergency. And I travel with others. Who knows? One day I will save the whole hotel from disaster! :) It's small, simple and powerful. I think the negative reviewers don't get it.

If you smell gas at 3am and run outside in your pajamas, the last thing you want to do is find a wrench or something. Take one of these and tie it to the gas valve with a loose piece of (plastic!) twine so it's there when you need it. Pretty standard.) The zinc coating should make it relatively rust resistant, we'll see how it holds up for years, but there's enough metal in it it shouldn't turn to dust overnight. Probably not leaving him right on the floor?
