Seems to have solved my problem

I installed a master and slave unit last weekend and the symptom I was having seems to have been resolved. After about half an hour of driving, it became very difficult to change gears. I've read several reviews and other information on the Miata forums here. Another clue was that the liquid had turned very dark. I am very happy with the installation of these two items and hope they last. The master was my original for 90 years, it lasted 27 years!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Dear

All right, bye. Always replace slave and master cylinders at the same time.

Clutch problem (couldn't always shift). The Mazda dealer said the leak was in the slave cylinder area. I ignored the online advice to replace both the slave and master cylinders. Exchanged slave, problem remained. If the master were replaced, the problem would be solved. These parts are cheap and replacing one instead of both doesn't cost much more. Bleeding the clutch line is probably the most time-consuming aspect of a repair. It's better/cheaper to replace both cylinders, make sure you're…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Perfect replacement for Miata NB1

Absolutely fantastic replacement. Replaced a faulty master cylinder when I originally bought the car and while it got me shifting again it wasn't the best. A year later it failed completely so I ordered this one. As everyone says, this isn't an Exedy branded part, just a Daiken or something. But damn it works great. Swapped the slave just in case and the pedal feel is significantly better, the contact point is no longer half a millimeter above the ground and it remains the same. The build…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Possible fakes or quality control errors

Mine from 2017 started to fail in 2018. As some others have mentioned, the item is not in the original Exedy packaging when received. I've noticed that a lot of the parts I get from Revain don't always come in the right branded packaging, except for a Luk and an Exedy clutch kit. My clutch pedal accidentally had too much play one day and was back to normal after one ride. It happened again, now I know I need another MC, this time I'll go to the local parts store. They come in the same packaging

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Outside

Great value for money

Easy to install and good quality. At the same time I also installed an Exedy SC825 slave cylinder. The combination of the two means I shouldn't have any clutch issues for a while. TIP: I've had 2 Miatas in a row do this repair. While there I adjusted the master cylinder push rod - quite a bit - (I lengthened it by 2 turns or so). This greatly improves the grip feeling. It didn't lift off the ground like my two Miats did. Now it feels like the clutch is on a new car (and has been for 4 months)…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Useless features
