Description of ๐Ÿ”’ Filtrete 16X25X1 MPR 300 Furnace Air Filter

OUTPERFORMS FIBERGLASS, WASHABLE AND NON-ELECTROSTATIC: 3-month pleated 1 inch air filters for your furnace, air conditioner or HVAC system. DESIGNED WITH EXCLUSIVE: Filtrete Brand 3-in-1 technology from 3M to trap unwanted air particles while letting cleaner air flow through. Attracts and captures large particles such as lint, household dust, dust mite debris and mold spores. MPR 300 has a rating of MERV 5. The higher the MPR, the more micro particles-such as pollen, pet dander, smoke, bacteria and viruses-your filter will capture from the air passing through it. Change filter at least every 90 days for optimal performance of your heating & cooling system or HVAC system. A dirty filter will slow down air flow and make the system work harder to keep you warm or cool -- wasting energy. Sign-up for a filter change reminder program that works for you. For residential use only. Create a change countdown in the Filtrete Smart app. Simply use the app to scan the barcode on your filterโ€™s packaging, then choose 30, 60 or 90 days for your replacement countdown. When the lifespan is up, youโ€™ll get a notification to change your filter.

Great oven filter

These are great filters because air can circulate through them. I live 150 miles south of Paradise Fire and you can see how much the filter has caught in the last 2 weeks. And with the windows closed.

Good quality and does the job

Sometimes the heaviest, thickest oven filter isn't the best choice for your oven -- THESE filters are good quality and will work if changed every 2-3 months . I even change them a bit early and my oven is as good as gold (23 year old oven!) Love this product.

  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Different filters on the image.

First of all, these are not the same filters as in the picture (see photo). They create too much pressure drop and the oven cycles on and off every 10 minutes. The HVAC company explained that the oven gets too hot due to insufficient airflow, so it shuts off for a moment and cools down a bit, then starts up again. It's not very energy efficient

Too cheap for words.

We buy many oven filters and use both expensive and inexpensive brands. I did not try the 3M Filtrate brand as they were usually out of our price range. When I found them at Revain for a reasonable price I bought half a dozen. These are the cheapest, thinnest and chunkiest filters I've ever bought. There are no cross braces to prevent the filters from bending and being inserted by hand. And because they are so poorly supported, none of the corrugations (ribs) of the filter media are straight or

No air flow will cause A/C to freeze and costly repairs - DO NOT BUY

This purchase was a big mistake, we paid over $600 to repair our A/C because we used this filter . The first filter we tried made a loud howl. I asked my husband to change because something was wrong. The second filter was very noisy when the AC was on and ended up being sucked into the vent causing our AC to freeze in mid Arizona summer. Our licensed HVAC technician has recommended NOT to use these filters anymore and I recommend the same for you, save yourself some bucks and hassle and getโ€ฆ

Broken, slipped in oven

I liked buying these filters because they were inexpensive and I could afford to replace them more often. I placed the first one shortly after receiving it, a little less than a month ago. It looked good and fit in my oven as expected. Fast forward a few weeks and it's cold in my house. My thermostat is set at 69 and the house doesn't go above 62. I've double checked all the windows and doors. I set the thermostat. I was confused. As a last try before visiting the AC, I checked the filterโ€ฆ

Low filtration filters avoid air problems

Filtrete is the name for quality filters, everyone knows it. I bought them because of the brand, the size and the price. I would like to point out that these are not thick, heavy pleated filters. They are thin and let a lot of air through. At first I thought it might not be that great, but after watching a ton of HLK videos on YouTube, I found that it's actually very good. The high air flow improves the efficiency of my heat pump and avoids problems such as icing on the coils on the heatโ€ฆ

Very bad quality.

I will never buy these air filters from Amazon again. I have bought this brand from various stores and have had no problems. This batch, which I recently bought from Amazon, is of terrible quality. The filter lasted 2.5 weeks and is so cheap and flimsy that every time the air/heater is turned on the filter sucks and bulges into the vent. It's so loud and woke me up every time it got hot at night. I asked my husband to change the filter because of this and when I took another filter out of theโ€ฆ
