Working.: Hand tool

Well working torque wrench. It doesn't have an infinite setting, which I agree with, but the detents don't hit the exact number. I'm sure it's within 3 percent of what it advertises, just a little annoying.

I liked it until it broke a bolt at 30 ft/lb.

Fixed caliper slider at 30 ft/lbs setting. I suspect the screw was overtightened earlier and started cracking before I installed it. Or this thing isn't very accurate at low torque settings.

Pros
  • The best in the niche
Cons
  • Nothing

The clicking is really obvious

My biggest concern about buying this dongle is if I can feel the click. It's no problem! That's very obvious. This wrench looks great, it's heavy, easy to grip and adjust, and it comes with a very nice storage case. I am very happy with it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Clarity

1/2 " Socket Torque Wrench

High quality wrench that tightens nuts up to 100 ft-lbs with virtually no effort. Also used to tighten the gimbal screws compared to a 3/8" Torque wrenches very easy to tighten to 80 ft-lbs and both clicked at the same time Not made in the USA but looks and feels sturdy Will certainly be with me for a long time Better than those cheaper wrenches that hit or miss.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No Power

Heavy duty tool fits hand tools

I have several gear wrench tools and bought this one because I needed a quality torque wrench for automotive use. Easy to set up, repeatable results and comes with a storage case. Tip: Don't forget to zero the torque wrench after use and 'break' the torque with the screw/eyelet and gently 'click' the wrench in - this will ensure the wrench stays calibrated and not live during storage stands.

Great key for the price

A fantastic key that replaced my old broken Craftsman block. I like the simple, solid cam lever and the knurled grip is easy to set up and very accurate. The "click" when you hit your chosen torque setting is very positive and feels great. Comes with factory torque accuracy test values which is a nice touch. In general, it feels like it will last and is a pleasure to use.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • A few little things

Sturdy and well designed

Sturdy and well designed. I have a lower torque version that works very well. Haven't used this one yet but found it very handy to buy another gearwrench. Gearwrench torque wrenches are a good mid-range travel tool for the price. I can't justify spending a lot of money on a torque wrench if you take good care of it and treat it like a quality measuring tool. There are no disappointments here. Buy it!

Most suitable for underground construction

Our employees assemble a large number of fittings for underground pipelines. We manufacture flanged and mechanical connectors. We primarily make 3/4" bolts so the torque is set at 85 ft-lbs. We tighten them all. Check this a few times. This wrench has a sealed head. We have other brands and more expensive torque wrenches Tried them but they don't last long This one has a slightly more sealed head so it keeps water and debris out better I buy one or two of these a year to support our crews…

Previously reliable in Power & Hand Tools

I bought this to replace an old SK they had left behind. I can't afford another SK at the moment and have several other smaller Gearwrench torque wrenches so I decided to give this one a try. My old Gearwrench keys, bought about 10 years ago, were made in the USA. Unfortunately they are no longer available and are now made in China. However, you won't find out by using it. It is very durable and well built and handling is excellent. I immediately checked the accuracy on the gauge and it was…

That's why I just can't get inside you, snap-on.

So I bought this to replace a torque wrench I bought four years ago. It is important to understand that tools are sold by hundreds of people and only dozens of people MAKE them. My original torque wrench was an off the shelf Husky Signature, Yes This Is The Home Depot Torque Wrench. And you know what, it drove great with all those fancy digital glowing grips, vibrating snap keys the other techs in the shop used great for 4 years until someone borrowed mine and improperly destroyed it. And I…
