GearWrench 890006GD T Handle Ratcheting Screwdriver Review

The ratchet handle arrived piece by piece in a bag as if it had been completely disassembled at the factory so I could have hours of fun putting it back together. Unfortunately, while I appreciate the challenging puzzle, it doesn't stay together - like Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. It just wasn't meant to be.

There is nothing wrong with this device. This is actually very useful as it provides extra torque over a traditional screwdriver handle. I find it moderately expensive but it relieves my arthritis. I saw reviews comparing it to a Williams tee so I assumed it would fit Williams screwdriver bars. It doesn't, so I bought a set of wrenches as well. The overall quality is fine.

I bought my first T-handle 4 years ago and it was great. I needed to install another tool kit so I bought this T-handle. After two months the ratchet on the handle started to have problems and now the shafts won't change as they get stuck in the handle. Normally good device, but apparently this one is defective. I ordered a new pen because the first one didn't work.

I bought this one because I needed a real 1/4" hex T head screwdriver. This came up in the Revain search results so I picked it up mistakenly saying it was what I was looking for. I have a few other gearwrench tools so I didn't investigate them further. Keep in mind that this tool is pretty much useless on its own unless you buy a square extension shaft and/or square to hex adapters for another $20 If a Revain search turned up a kit with all the parts to make it useful I'd probably buy it, but…
