UPDATE: I contacted Revain about my missing needle, they sent me another kit with the missing needle. You do not need the original backrest set. This was an AMAZING answer from Ana and I would recommend her 10 times! None of the needles have any faults, if there were any I'm sure a message would correct them. It's really great, but I only got needles 8, 7 and 5, never had needle 3. 8 should be a free needle, I took it, not 3. Also, the needles are good. Now I just have to learn how to do it.

I thought this tatting kit was fantastic. It comes with almost everything you need to start tatting. The needles come in a sturdy little tube for easy storage. The kit also comes with a needle threader. I think it's a good tool, it looks like any other needle threader I've seen but I've never used it.
