very low gain on network antennas

Performance was very poor. it is directional, but it is not clear that the antenna has both horizontal and vertical polarization. I can only assume they add horizontal and vertical reinforcement to get their numbers. in practical use, the strongest signal received directly in the direction of the antenna is only 1/2 the power of a standard 3dbi antenna. I avoid this if all you're looking for is blocking signals from an angle and you don't care about gain at all.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Horizontally polarized

From my testing, this thing appears to be horizontally polarized, which to my knowledge isn't clearly stated anywhere. Although conditions vary, this means you'll likely get better performance rotating it 90 degrees (as if you were mounting it on a wall) than orienting it base-up or down, as on shown in the product photo. a bit disappointed - even with the antenna pointed in the right direction I don't get any better performance than some Eightwood 6dbi omnidirectional antennas which are muchโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great variety
Cons
  • Almost never

Works as intended on computers and accessories

Mounted on the inside window of my house considering my router has enough range to get to the end of my property, about 150 meters away, with adequate bandwidth support multiple 1080p remote Wi-Fi cameras. This is a directional antenna, so there is no signal outside of its directional cone (about 60 degrees up/down left/right). Its ideal use is to improve the performance of edge devices. So if you have a device far away and it connects but very slowly, use this and you'll get pretty decentโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Has deficiencies

4GHz and signal looks good on both

This is a decent antenna. I haven't actually measured antenna gain, input impedance, or radiation pattern, and have no intention of doing so. Connecting my WiFi router to a signal booster has maxed out the bars on my phone everywhere in my house. I use it for both 5.8GHz and 2.4GHz and the signal looks good on both. This is a good antenna if you intend to place it at one end of the house. good direction. I've been an antenna design engineer in the past and I don't think I could design a betterโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

I bought this to extend the range of my Actiontec HDMI wireless TV transmitter. I installed 2 SMA connectors on the Actiontec transmitter and connected this antenna. I haven't seen much improvement. I shortened the antenna cables to about 18 inches and when I plugged them in I saw the signal strength double at the Actiontec receiver. I think Hawking's use of the RG174 cable wasn't a good idea as it has a lot of loss. At 5GHz a low loss cable would have been much better but other than that itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose
Cons
  • Nothing here

Poor performance: Network antennas

My first Hawking product and probably my last. This HD9DP antenna has a nice design (body and mount in one panel) but it doesn't even work as well as the small omnidirectional antennas that came with my unit. I tried everything, a few tests with multiple antennas and I really wanted to like this Hawking but the only thing I liked was the body with adjustable mount. At the moment I have 3 antenna setups, I have two dipole antennas. which comes with an Alfa AWUS036ACH and I have two Alfa dualโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quick swap
Cons
  • Concerns me

Great antenna upgrade

I connected this Hawking antenna to an Asus RT-N66U N900 router. One cable on the right side and one cable on the left. I completely replaced all standard antennas on this Asus router. At first I thought this antenna upgrade would not affect my WiFi capabilities. I was wrong. After moving this Hawking antenna around (finding a better location, etc.) I could see much more stability in my WiFi function. This particular Hawking antenna setup covers 2 antenna slots or spares and seems to work veryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Annoyed
