Good quality tool, fits puller kits

Was able to easily remove a stuck wheel hub from my wife's truck. When the slide hammer didn't move it (after 4 hours of trying). Note: This tool requires a 1-1/4" or metric socket and wrench. We also recommend purchasing the Astro Pneumatic Tool 78825 Master Front Wheel Bearing Adapter Puller Set if you do not have the correct bearing adapter. Plus, the Astro hub puller kit and bearing adapter kit together cost less than half of an OTC hub puller.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some bugs

Stout gets the job done better than others

Excellent for pulling out hubs and bearings without removing the steering knuckle. I particularly like the 7/8" jackscrew. ASTRO offers two fairly thick hardened washers, but do yourself a favor and get a needle thrust bearing and some ground hardened washers: a drop of oil and these little ones will reduce that Friction There is almost nothing under the screw head, some anti-seize grease on the screw and it pulls a bit.

  • GLA certified
Cons
  • Hard to tell

97 Rusty Wrangler. 5 lb sled didn't work

Great tool for rear drum brakes. I have an old '97 Wrangler and I'm not sure if it was ever changed. The wheel brake cylinder was broken on one side and the retaining springs were broken on the other side. I spent a week with a blaster and a torch and didn't see a single movement from either side. As I moved the box, which was a decently heavy 20 pounds? And when unboxing the tool, it took longer to line up the tool with the correct nut than to remove the rusty drums. Very easy to use and saved

It works as advertised

So I have MDX. There is a problem with chemical corrosion, cold welding. all with rotors on axial spindles. Heat, knock with a hammer, it is impossible to remove them. This device is bomb! Super easy to use and rich in content! Pushed the rear rotors as far as they could go, tapped them a few times with a ball head hammer and BAM, they came loose. I stood back from one for a minute and heard it pop. Each was removable with little effort other than tightening the drive bolt to the maximumโ€ฆ

Vehicle damage caused for tools and equipment

This is an overview of the tool and the seller. I bought this to remove a badly rusted brake disc from a Volvo XC60. The pointed center of the puller crushed the banjo bolt and did not remove the caliper. I had to buy a new axle bolt from Volvo. I was able to remove the rotor by using the "backward" caliper locking bolts to force the rotor away from the hub. I had to constantly turn the rotor and turn the bolts. See UT for details. So I sent the goods back to the seller at Transport Dieselโ€ฆ

  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Discontinued model

Great tool, you just have to know!

Finally I could use this tool, I love it! The front rotors stuck to my car for months after replacing the brake pads. I bought this tool to remove them without damaging the tabs with a hammer. Success! Although I should warn you because nothing and nobody warned me. After my electrocution twisted the latch as far as it could go, I had to finish the job by hand. Which is good, obviously I'm stronger than my impact wrench. Just remember that when your stuck rotor finally frees itself (if you film

The case ripped at the attachment point upon delivery, great tool!

Case had a crack and the hinge was loose on the case upon delivery. I was able to move it apart and reattach the hinge so it's fine. It's safe enough for the amount I'm going to use. The important part of the review is that this tool is very well made. Details are difficult. On my 2007 Audi A6 C6 Quattro I was able to get the complete bearing pin out of the hub. Usually a bearing tears apart, but this tool removed the bearing from the hub in one shot (after removing it from the car, of course).

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something different
