I bought this cord to replace a broken hinge on my Hunter Douglas Silhouette lampshade. This cable is much thinner than the original cable so it won't "snap into gears" when you try to raise the umbrella! It simply does not work! Interestingly, this issue has been mentioned in several reviews, so I probably should never have bought this product. It's a waste of money, don't buy it. This should be rated zero stars

Serves its purpose and fits perfectly but looks worn out after about 3 months of use. I was afraid it would break prematurely. I used this to replace a broken cord loop on my Levolor honeycomb blinds. This is a large window - over 90 inches wide - so the curtain is likely heavier than most. This cord doesn't seem thick enough to hook the wheel when I try to lift the canopy - it just slides through. No problem. I lower the lampshade - I just raise it, since it has to support such a weight. I think I'll have to order a replacement directly from Levolor.

The item worked as a replacement for the loop rope on my blinds but in my opinion the product is inferior as it is not a true endless rope. The two open ends of the rope are glued or held together with a piece of clear plastic, such as that used at the tip of a shoelace.
