Installation nightmare

During assembly, part of the screen material is pulled out. When I fitted it to my new screen door it pulled the screen completely out of the frame which could not be tensioned back into place. This required a complete replacement of the screen material in my Arcadia door screen. When I installed the new screen, I installed the dog flap before trimming the excess screen material around the slots. I then had enough uncut footage to plug it back in without pulling it out again. To make matters…

We bought this screen door to replace the "small pet door screen panel" we made for 2 cats. However, installation was pretty easy. We have (heavy duty) pet grade mesh in the installation door. The instructions say to press the screen onto the bumps, but with the "home-grade" screen, we had to crop the screen to press onto the setup bumps. Knocking off the two outer bezels with a rubber mallet wasn't easy due to the thickness of the screen. In fact, we had to cut holes in the receiver so the…

Takes patience but works

We had it just over a week before installing it. It took a little longer than expected, about 1 1/2 hours as we had to shave off part of the sash as it kept getting stuck and not fully closing. We also taped the locks as they kept getting blocked when we didn't want them locked, usually because cats pawed at them. This is the third. My 2 cats have never seen a cat door. They are in the cats but come out onto our deck where they can hunt bugs and birds and get some fresh air. I used masking tape

Time will tell if it holds up

UPDATED April 22, 2019 I am updating my previous 2 star rating to 4 stars. This product has held up very well despite the fragile foil now covered in scratches. The strong magnet came off and my cat was able to come and go as she pleased comfortably but not so much that the wind blew into her and it is really very windy in that part of the house. Although the door itself appears to be well made, I am very disappointed with the fragile plastic sheeting used on the door. I thought it would be…

  • So far so good

GREAT DESIGN: I paid $19 for an open box with prime delivery for the pet door. Instructions were concise and simple but required some tooling skills for installation. MOST IMPORTANTLY the patio door needs to be removed from the track to lay on a flat protected surface to create a stencil on the screen stock then I cut the hole after reinstalling the patio door (TIPS: DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL WITH THE SCREEN IN A VERTICAL PLACE). Our cat is 6 months old and it took her a while to figure it out. But
