Type of review

Conceptually this is a great product. The 19 inch rack makes a big difference in space between ladder and surface. In addition, it is stable and durable. For this reason I give 3 stars. The step spacing of the Ladder Max is very limited compared to a typical stair rung. If I really had to stand on one of the steps, my shoes would snag. I wear size 13 work boots and there is only an inch of legroom between the steps of the Ladder Max. I think it's sort of a design flaw as most stairs have a lot…

Quality product with a dangerous flaw

When I first bought this stabilizer, I really liked it. I liked the big legs, solid construction and easy installation. Tasks that I used to be hesitant about have become routine. For example, I felt much more confident cleaning the top floor gutters, which are 30 feet high. The only major issue was weight and balance. On my 30 foot extended lander, much of this stabilizer can make moving and positioning the entire ladder difficult. Any stabilizer will use a ladder that long, but this one is…

Laborious to assemble and guide

It's actually a good product but what I don't like is that many companies don't assemble it to save money and maximize their profits. . You could easily assemble it and ship it in a box that wouldn't be that big and certainly the same weight. I don't like all those companies that show nice pictures of the assembled item and then, to maximize their profits, make you collect it. I disagree that the build only takes a few minutes as some reviewers say. The assembly is not bad, but takes a few…

Great product and works on small giant stairs with disclaimer

I used this with a Louisville Ladder FE3224 300lb 24ft fiberglass ladder to clean gutters. That works great. It is easy to assemble (tighten 10 nuts/bolts) and takes only a few seconds to connect to the ladder with two wire locking pins. Since I have large overhangs, the rack's rubber legs rested on top of the roof shingles. Didn't notice that they damaged the clapboards as some others have mentioned, but I'll keep an eye on it. I also bought mine in June 2016 and the edges of the steps weren't

Beautiful but difficult to use

Easy to assemble and install, but the assembly instructions could be clearer. However, this makes it much more difficult to install and move the ladder after it is installed as it somehow upsets the balance of the ladder. Also, a couple of the top rungs need to be lengthened to fit and this keeps those rungs from sliding down when the product is installed on my Werner 28ft fiberglass extension ladder. So basically, add some extra footage to your ladder before you even start lifting and…
