Brake Tools & Equipment Tool

Makes replacing horseshoe spring pads (available for Chevy) easy. Much better than the old hook and screw tool. Recommend buying two and swapping the hook for one as others have said if you are going to be using this tool more than once.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Many Things

This is the tool I needed

Without this tool I would not be able to remove and replace a brake spring on my 2006 Silverado 1500. As insurance, I also bought a Lisle 50600 brake tool (which consists of clips, hooks and thumbscrews) which, while well made, was unnecessary.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Expensive

The thing spins great. Very basic but good value

Bought the day a colleague suggested it to me. Before that, the only "tool" I saw was this fancy single U or double L with 4 hooks/nuts. Used once and found it to be rubbish. So I've always just heavily armed them apart/together. The thing spins great. Very simple but changing the world. Highly recommend for everyone.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • So so

Worth the money and better than other single spring tools.

This tool was much easier to use than the Matco tool which has a frame, hook and 4 handles that should sit on the hub without slipping. It was still a little tricky working with a quill without the help of a second person, but it was a lot quicker than setting up another style tool. I ended up flipping the hook of the opposite brake shoe (one direction for the front shoe and the other for the rear shoe). He wanted to slip if I left the hook as it was. A double hook might help, but I don't…

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
