Pretty good for car maintenance

My SUV's paintwork isn't in the best condition and honestly needs an update. I bought this item because I wanted to exhaust all options before proceeding with the repaint and I have to say it did a pretty good job as you can see in the picture. Right "before", left "after". The unit is very solidly constructed from machined aluminum and the bearings inside are very smooth. I think this is a great option for car owners who will be using this once or twice a year. If you plan on detailing the car

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Home users have no reason to spend three times more.

This gives you the biaxial rotation you've come to expect from high-end polishers at a small price. Most home users who just clean their car don't need a $100+ professional polisher. This gives you comparable results at a fraction of the price. More expensive options offer better ergonomics, making them easier to use for hours at a time. If you only spend an hour or two a year on it, there's no point wasting money on a higher-end polisher. Like any drill, it is built into the drill chuck. Hold…

Very convenient wireless solution!

Use this thing today and wow! It's so convenient that you don't have to fiddle with cables. I used it on my dad's 1994 F-150 with the original 24 year old paint and had amazing results. The compound gave the most obvious results. I plan to use this again and again. Just make sure you have at least two batteries charged in your drill so you don't have to wait for the battery to charge as I have yet to make a full machine on one charge although I've only used it. on full size trucks. Works great, but...: Detailing tools

I've loved this so much I've been using McGuire products for years. It worked great and made a well-made impression. I have a big truck so he's been really training! When I was finished and tidy, I removed the tool from the drill bit and got ready to remove the block. Something went wrong here. It is not clear in the instructions how to attach the cover and how to remove it. The pad is glued to a thick paper backing that is attached to the head of the instrument with Velcro. The pad cannot be…

Weak Buffing Pad - Detailing Tools

I bought the DA Power System tool to try auto detailing, an entry-level tool for a person with no experience. I've done a few tries with the tool myself and can say that it's a well-built tool and does exactly what it says on the tin. How useful this will be for me depends on how quickly I can master the technique. I have no problem with the instrument. However, I have a problem with the supplied polishing pad. On my first attempt at polishing, the Velcro broke off the sponge. Securely attach…

The Mequiar DA is so easy to use

I have never used a burnisher or any other power tool on my car. The DA of this mequiar is very easy to use. First I doused my car in clay, then I used Meguiar's DA with a Menzerna SF4000, I hand rubbed alcohol on everything. You need to make multiple passes over a small area. It takes a long time. Watch the Auto Geek guys video or the Meguiar video for clues. The finish was brilliant with no halo, almost perfect. I apply Menzerna PL sealing by hand in two layers one day apart. I intend to grow

  • Confident

  • Nothing here

First time on an electric buffer and it's just amazing!

Just to say this was my first time using a polishing tool so I was completely clueless what to expect and if I was going to get it right but this thing is totally forgiving and gave me results that exceeded my expectations. I recently bought a battered VW and while the car itself was fine, the paintwork needed serious attention. There were many scuffs and scratches all around. paint and spray on some panels. and I don't think it has ever been washed in the last three years! So, I read about…
