Description of πŸ”Œ Murray MP120DF: A Versatile Circuit Breaker for Enhanced Functionality

Faster, more cost effective installation to meet code requirements compared to installing an AFCI breaker and GFI receptacle. For use on Murray load centers that accept UL type MP-GA2 breakers. HACR, SWD, 120 Volt AC rated. The breaker requires power to run the self test / trip functions (will not test / trip when not installed). The Dual Function Circuit Breaker combines GFCI and AFCI, protecting against both Arc Faults and Ground Faults.

Murray high failure rate circuit breaker

I bought six Murray AFCI/GFC circuit breakers. Three of them failed the self-test. This is an unacceptable failure rate. Worse, the included documentation leaves a lot to be desired. I also installed a couple of Square D circuit breakers on the subpanel and they all worked and have extensive documentation. EG Gfci by Square D includes a calendar tag for testing notes. (This was not a self-test.) Murray only has one line indicating that if both diodes are blinking continuously, the breaker needs

Installs like any other circuit breaker or earth leakage breaker and much smaller than the old ones! Please turn off the power before attempting to install this. Even with the main switch off, if this switch is in the switch box, you are still working on the main line from the pole under tension. In order for this to install properly, the HOT (BLACK) and NEUTRAL (WHITE) powering the circuit must be connected to the switch itself. The white coiled wire attached to the switch should be connected…

Listed as Siemens but with Murray -Part numbers and Murray in picture. Of course, everyone knows that Siemens bought Murray and these series are interchangeable. BUT my local code inspector wouldn't miss a Murray panel with a variant of these same Semens switches, which is why I had to track down the Murrays, but they're sold out and I'm not sure if they're being made either. But even though it says Siemens here on Revain, they sent me Murrays and that was the end of the test. So if you're…
