    Unreliable for networking products

I bought this to replace a 3 year old refurbished SB6183. 6 months later I had had enough with the CM600 - while ALL the lights were still connected, in fact very often there was no data connection and a reboot was required to recover. Such failures occurred at least twice a month. Eventually a reboot didn't work, the xFinity Troubleshoot couldn't detect the modem so I had to switch back to the SB6183, the connection to Comcast reestablished immediately and has been stable ever since. For now…

I didn't read every paragraph and skipped it, I bought a refurbished one. Wouldn't buy. Will be more careful in future. No big deal, I just didn't want to buy refurbished for same price as new from Best Buy. sorry reven I'm mad at you. Misleading and dishonest. I will not buy your brand again nor will I recommend it.

Simple.Simple.Inexpensive Best in Computers & Accessories

The modem looked like new. The packaging was sealed and like new. The modem simply connects to the Spektrum network via chat support. I upgraded my connection from 100Mbps to 400Mbps, but I had an older Motorola SB6121 that didn't support the channels needed to reach this new speed. This modem helped.

I couldn't use the setup instructions for online activation. However, after contacting the technical representative over the phone, my issues were quickly resolved and the device works great (so far). If there are problems I will update.

This item will not work without a router for Xfinity

Item description although I'm sure the seller is most likely not responsible for telling you this but should tell you that you also need a router. this product. (at least with xfinity) Not worth it alone. Also, there are only two Ethernet ports. I haven't used the product so I can't tell you how the product itself works. The lack of ports and the inability of the router is why I rate the product low.

Comcast modem needs updating. I used to have my own but it got slow and my internet just hung. The Comcast technician said earlier that my modem needs to be replaced. I found this modem after research and reviews, even looking for refurbished modems. While this works great, my internet is much more responsive. This modem looks brand new, very happy with this purchase.

    Xfinity Gigabit speeds

I tested four modems to see what speeds I can get with Xfinity Gigabit (model DLmbs/ULmbs): CM1000 950/46CM700 720/6CM600 720/6CM500 560/6 with or more that Xfinity offers 100, 200, 300, 600, 1000 in my region. So for gigabit you clearly need a CM1000 as it is DOCSIS 3.1 and xfinity has gigabit optimized for DOCSIS 3.1 and the boot process is also optimized for DOCSIS 3.1. If you have a data plan of 600Mbps or less even the CM500 will suffice as you will only see a maximum of 95% of your data…

    DO NOT BUY! BIG HEADACHE!

Worst modem experience I have ever had. I needed to replace an existing old modem, so I decided to try this "updated" modem. After not being able to connect to the internet for more than 3 hours, I concluded that it was an updated modem. I decided to buy this modem new from Revain just to make sure it wasn't a specific brand or model of modem. The new modem connected within minutes and is now working. Save yourself time and headaches and DO NOT buy refurbished ones. It costs extra money. You…

Works as advertised even if "updated "

I upgraded my internet service and needed a modem that could handle the new bandwidth. I also wanted a device with enough downstream/upstream to handle multiple people working from home or studying at home while streaming music or shows. This modem does everything along with a router than it can handle the same thing. Mine is connected to a TP-LINK Archer C3150 router. I also didn't want to pay for a newer DOCSIS 3.1 modem since I don't have a 1Gig plan. The discounted price of the upgraded…

UPDATED: Won't connect to my ISP or either of my routers.

Edit 2/21/20: I've upgraded this to 4 stars because I have to use the device when in doubt. I got tech when I couldn't get another modem (different brand) to connect to my ISP. The reason was that the coax from the attic to the modem was old (30+ years old) and had too much noise for a high performance service and modem. while the old modem was more tolerant. The technician ran a new cable and everything is working now. So my assessment of this refurbished NetGear device was probably wrong…
