Description of ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Enhanced OTC 4573 Universal Overhead Valve Spring Compressor for Improved SEO

OTC's Universal Overhead Valve Spring Compressor is a great option for compressing valve springs - facilitating valve spring removal or valve stem seal replacement on many Cars, Vans, & Light Trucks. Ideal for use on installed cylinder heads, especially in vehicles with tight underhood clearances, but can be used for bench work as well. Spring loaded jaws easily grip and compress valve springs. Legs designed with a built-in offset to compensate for spring wind - keeping tool vertical and stable during use. Includes two spring adapters; fits valve spring retainers up to 1-13/16 inch diameter; 1-3/8 to 5-5/8 inch jaw opening; 5-7/8 inch throat clearance.

Well made, seal replacement is a breeze, no strain on your hands

Worked very well for replacing valve seals, brackets and brackets on my head mounted BMW. I had to trim some of the silver interior to fit my specific application but it's no big deal Can't expect it to fit perfectly on every head. Once I figured that out everything was a breeze. After fitting 24 M3 valves it wasn't too hard on the hands. Can be more painful if you have extreme valve springs I recommend it for replacing parts of the valve mechanism with the head in place.I used a leak tester to

Sturdy but slightly oversized with jaw placement

I have used this on a 4 cylinder LD9 with table valve train, really nice to have. Anyone complaining about their bad hands should take a nap and maybe have a bottle, the pen wasn't a problem, it won't hurt a decent pair of working class hands. The only problem I had was that the jaws were too far apart even for a small 4 cylinder engine. I put it in a vise and bent it a bit, to be honest it was a tough set of metal to bend so they'll last a while. The only thing I can think of is adjusting theโ€ฆ

Good construction, easy to use

Regarding another reviewer's comment that he "softened his hand", agree I don't necessarily agree, having used it myself. It was easy to use and didn't hurt. However, I think it really depends on how strong your feathers are. If you're stripping 40-year-old feathers, it's easy. If you have springs holding a rad hydraulic roller cam, you may have to struggle. I was trying to decide whether to buy this or an over-the-counter product with a large clip. I chose this because it was cheaper. Iโ€ฆ
