Description of ๐Ÿ  Enhance Breeding Success with Penn Plax Fish Breeding Grass - Fry Hideout & Safe Haven - Stunning Decorative Aquarium Grass

Fish breeding grass is a necessary addition to your home aquarium when fish are breeding so babies can have a safe haven to hide out in. Effective for both live bearers as well as egg layers. Decorative aquarium grass measures 8" x 5" x 1 1/2". It is the ideal size for almost any size home fish tank. Providing a safe area for newly born fish is critical to their survival. This grass is safe hiding for fry and contributes to the natural habitats of the aquarium. Breeding grass can float at the water level or if you prefer it can be secured to the bottom of the tank by using gravel to weigh it down. Easy to clean and washable, these plants will last a very long time. You will love the way these foreground plants blend with the rest of your aquarium deฬcor.

Saves babies, reduces stress for mothers

If you have a HOB filter, you need to attach it to some part of the aquarium somehow. I threaded a piece of air tubing through the mat and then tucked both ends under the lid. Aside from that minor flaw, it works great - I cut it in half and put half of it on the bottom, and the combination of safe surface and substrate hiding spots saved a lot of small guppies and platybrood in my tank. This is good if you're aiming for more natural, less stressful maternal births - breeding traps will save aโ€ฆ

Works when trying to house juvenile fish

I have a large tank (a combination of natural and artificial) for my dwarf puffer. I have kept several brown catfish with their team of "cleaners" in the same tank for four years. I bought two of these decorations a few months ago and I think they're one of the reasons my measles have had a baby boom and been so ridiculously successful at breeding for the last few months (after years of inactivity) because the puffers aren't getting can get past the spiky details. So they work when trying toโ€ฆ

Great product and lets kids get away with it.

Please buy this to protect your young fish! We have three females and one male in a 10 gallon tank and I think all the females are pregnant. I watch the females eat the young as fast as they can. Google says that females are pregnant most of their lives if they are in the same tank as a male? Small plants float on top and the young fish are immediately attracted to them. A few minutes after we put the plant in the tank we found a little baby fry hiding inside that survived but we didn't know he

It works!: Fish & Aquatic Animals

It really works! I had problems with the flatfish population because I could not save the juveniles for a long time. There was a pregnant woman that looked like she was about to explode, so I bought it hoping the boys would have somewhere to hide. I let them float because I didn't have any floating plants. I've also read of other customers having great success swimming instead of tying these things. Today (2 days after they were placed) I saw that the female had a much thinner belly so Iโ€ฆ

Nice foreground plant and looks great with driftwood

I wanted the fry to hide and it worked. Many, many juvenile fish are hiding here. The ends of the grass are sharp enough that adults cannot feel the middle. The young fish mostly hide under the grass. I really like how they look in the sand under my driftwood. They look like tufts of grass. So I ordered 2 more. The fry also like to hide in my Como Green Oval Leaves Emulational Aquatic Plant Decor 24" for the aquarium. They will accumulate food but when I vacuum I also suck up the little fry soโ€ฆ
