Do you make LS valve springs? Buy this!

This thing. This is the best valve spring compressor ever made! I made both heads (on a workbench) in 15 minutes! And there were no springs or detents flying around. Didn't feel like I had to wear armor making valve springs with this tool lol. Only thing, no complaints in case you're wondering, this tool doesn't work with Gen4 rectangular connector heads. Just the port of the cathedral! (as advertised)

Well made, easy to use.

I don't normally write product reviews but I want to write about this product. I've used large spring clamp tools in the past and it's been a lot easier. The tool appears to be well made and made to remove the springs on my LS heads very easily. I suggest using a socket adapter for your drill press. Just don't over tighten if the heads are aluminum. If I were to suggest one thing it would be to include some sort of small bag to fold all the pieces. Even if it costs a few euros more.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • So far so good

Huge time saver on power tools

A must have when working with LS engines. I needed to replace a broken spring on an express van and none of my universal compressors could get onto the front cylinders due to firewall clearance. Not only does this tool fit in easily, but it gets the job done much quicker than using a universal compressor. I used it again a week later on another van. So glad I bought this. It had a few extra details that weren't made clear in the instructions. I have circled them in the photo.

  • Great for a small home

Worst tool I've ever bought.

This tool should work on LS1, LS2 and LS6. I bought it for LS2. This will NOT work on the LS2 engine. I called the manufacturer and they said "This doesn't work on LS2 and it shouldn't be on the website. You'll have to buy another one." ProForm offered no other solution or help. I had to modify the tool to make it work and to make matters worse the bolt that came with the tool broke off on the last cylinder. So the quality of the tool is also BAD. I own a repair shop and would NEVER buy any…

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Easy maintainability

Valve Spring Compressor

I bought this item to work with valve springs as I repair the engine myself at home. This serves the purpose and saves you time by allowing you to remove 2 springs at a time, but you need to apply extra force on the screw to deploy 2 springs at a time. I've also noticed that it tends to warp and flex with high pressure race/sport springs. Personally, I have no problem with this spring compressor, but I still prefer the Powerbuilt lever type (Powerbuilt 940541 Valve Spring Compressor), which…
