I used this to sugar maple for the vacuum on mine.

I used this for Sugar Maple for vacuum on my 1st year exhaust. I have 27 inches of vacuum at 180 puffs, then something happened to the springs inside where the paddles are, you can't find paddles for that. switched it over and got it working 5 years later it still works but the vacuum is only 21 inches and now thinking about getting another one

You get what you pay for.

Cleans the air conditioner very quickly. After 5 minutes the sensors were at -30mm (minimum) and not moving. Listening to videos of other pumps, I can assure you that this pump is very quiet. There was enough oil in the pack to refill. There is a claim to changing the oil after each use, but if you flush the air conditioner with a very easily evaporating solvent. and let dry, NO oil pollution. Very happy with this purchase.

What a loud oily mess

So I'll say I tried emailing Robinair but the email was bounced with the wrong address. I have had this device for less than a month. This vacuum pump is very noisy, but the worst thing is the oily porridge. All the oil came out of the drain valve/plug and I didn't even try to drain it. Now a nice big oil stain on the concrete. It was walking against a wooden wall and now it's splattered with oil. Vapor/fog/fog is very visible. I still have a return window so I think it will come back.

almost took a job

I read some reviews decided to drop the bad reviews Robinair apparently makes red vacuum pumps and blue vacuum pumps. red made in China blue USA. (I haven't checked if the blue one is made in the US) The 15800 I'm buying to replace my 30 year old Dayton vacuum pump never made it through its first day on the job. inside something fell apart and closed. Long story short I returned the red pump and bought a pump upgrade kit from Grainger and my 30 year old pump is running again. Your results may…

Not the Robinair I know of

Overall the pump looked and felt cheap compared to my American Robinair SPX pump (made in the USA). I bought this pump to have 2 CFMs more than my current Robinair. When the pump was turned on, it threw oil mist everywhere, and when the suction stops for a moment, oil mist spreads everywhere. Again, my old pump had a slightly noticeable mist BUT it's not an oily shower like this. BUT THE WORST thing is that the company selling the pump hides some of the retail value in the shipping cost - I…

Nice pump if you know what you are doing.

Used half a dozen pumps over the years. Whether made in the US or China, most of these are junk. This 2 stage 8 CFM device works great. It works so well that I bought 3 more (for parallel multi-stage compressor systems). My customers also bought it on my recommendation and are satisfied with the product. I lost my leg shock absorber when the pump fell 4 feet off a truck shelf. The pump still works perfectly. Someone complained that the pump does not start when turned on. This is a common…

Great pump - READ the manual!

I've had this pump for a few months now and it works great. I only use it for degassing silicone rubber before mold making. One thing I highly recommend is to read the manual carefully before using it. I believe a lot of the negative reviews on this pump come from people who have done the exact opposite. The pump comes with 2 bottles of oil; I didn't have to use either. You fill the pump with oil until it reaches the minimum line and then run the pump until it runs smoothly. I then poured the…
