Looks cheap but does the job

Very cheap feel. Nothing special at all! It reads both of my cars (GX460 and Grand Cherokee) so that's all that really matters. The weird thing is that the right and left buttons don't move forward or backward. You must use the back button or the OK button. Not the biggest problem, but I kept selecting the wrong button. I've been using my friend's scanner (expensive) for a while and there are a few quality differences like the cord doesn't come loose, it doesn't screw into a carport to stay…

Connected and functional

I've wanted this for a long time. I'm a handyman and prefer to do my own repairs. I did my share of paperclips and counted flashes to figure out the error code. As a layman, this is not the tool you need every day, but when you need it. you need him I didn't have a fault code or CEL at the time but I found the live readings for various items, battery level, internal engine temp to be very good which made troubleshooting much easier. I've never used an OBD scanner before but it was literally so…

Easy-to-follow diagnostic, test, and measurement tool

I'm not very mechanically savvy and know enough about auto mechanics to know when to call a professional. This OBD2 scanner is a mix of analog and digital device. I expected more from a digital device that displays a graphical user interface and not just numerical data results. In any case, the results are good and understandable for me. I have a 2008 Toyota Prius that sometimes shows the check engine light for reasons unknown to me. I took it to the dealer for regular service and they just…

An invaluable DIY auto repair tool

The C301 OBD2 scanner is one of the cheapest tools of its kind I've seen. I'm really amazed at how good this product is for its meager price. Sure, the plastic is a bit cheap and the buttons are a bit bland, but it does the job well. Unlike a physical UI, a visual UI goes beyond user-friendliness in the higher-quality realm — it's well-organized and presented on a bright, sharp, and easy-to-read screen. Using this scanner to determine the cause of the lit MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light aka…

Very useful car scanner

I'm not a mechanic but I understand some concepts related to engine parts and their functions. I think it's important to at least have an idea; Especially if you are a woman. I have dealt with dishonest mechanics and dishonest car dealers in the past. There are no words to describe the horrible feeling after finding out you have been tricked. At first glance, this scanner turned out to be inferior. Compared to some others I thought I would be disappointed. This couldn't be further from the…

Bargain scanner with solid equipment

I have long needed an ODBII scanner for our domestic cars and have tried several of them with mixed results. The less expensive readers I've tried before are so feature-poor that they're difficult to use or don't provide accurate information. I've also received Bluetooth adapters that require an app on the phone and I find them too complicated to use while working on the car. Whilst we don't have many problems with our vehicles, reading the fault code when there is a problem can be a real money
