I wouldn't necessarily call it a safe. Because it doesn't protect anything. When it is locked, you can open it with a spoon when it is "locked". Although I kept it after figuring it out as it only worked to have the appearance of a lockable box, the plastic handle you twist to open eventually broke after minimal use.

Love this safe it was just what I was looking for. We needed somewhere to store medicines, cash, and other items we didn't want to subject curious kids and their friends to. It was perfect, well made, strong lock, quick access, light enough to move around easily. It won't stop a determined burglar, but it's perfect for keeping roommates, kids, nosy friends and family away from your belongings.

I bought this so my son would have a coin safe. I would hesitate to stow anything that needs real security. I also don't know if it's possible to turn off the code clicking sound. It wouldn't be stealthy if you had to grab something quickly and stealthily. There are better products on the market at a slightly higher price but with fast and secure access. After about 3 months the plastic handle started to feel weird and eventually stopped being "open" so you had to enter a code once to open the box and a second time to close and lock the box . I like it very much. But. Funny story and a few tips: Our 12-year-old cracked a 4-number combination in two days. We recommend using a combination of 6-8 numbers, wiping the keys after each use (because if you only see stains on 4 keys it's easy to calculate the number) and always having the keys with you because of the Lock key can bypass the combination and the kid can just unlock it before bedtime and then come back after everyone has gone to bed and extract your technology from it.
