Broken Stand - Measuring & Marking Tools

I ordered this unit and found that the stand was broken. The fault is that the locking knob 3 does not lock the mounting plate to hold the laser in any position without tipping over when the laser is pointing to the ground. I went back to the 360 laser and stood and got a replacement. The base of the newly received device was also defective. I suspect this defect is a design flaw present in any stand that comes with the laser level. I'll try to fix this by putting more washers on the locking…

Pros
  • Great for Outdoor Activities

Really great level but fragile

This level is really great but the first time I dropped it (the tripod tipped over) the horizontal laser broke. I don't know if I was unlucky or something. There are some insanely fragile connections if you take it apart to see if it can be salvaged - one of the circuit boards is attached with incredibly thin copper wires (the thickness of a hair). This complicates disassembly because if you snap them open you have to re-solder them by hand and the wires aren't really thick enough to do without

  • Good product for the price

Mediocre at best, but you get what you pay for.

Since it has multiple settings and features, it's best to break them down. 360 Degree Laser Level: Works fine if you place it at a certain height on a solid object (tripod to the point below) and used in unlocked laser mode. Move slowly to reduce the jump line even at 20 feet. Accuracy is within 0.5 degrees, so distances of up to 10 feet shouldn't be visible unless you're looking for it. Centerline: Same as a vertical line, but appears to be within +/- 1 degree of the plane and is easily…
