TireMinder Solar Powered Trailer TPMS Review

The ad doesn't mention that there is no low/high alarm setting. It's only after opening the package that it turns out that this is just a sudden loss guard.

I bought this for my 28 foot fifth wheel ahead of a 5,000 mile trip across the US this summer. Although it's only approved for trailers 25 feet or less, it worked great and kept me in a good mood throughout the trip. I particularly liked the solar receiver and I never had a problem with it. A set of spare batteries for the valve cover transmitter was included but the originals are still good after two months.

I installed the Solar Trailer TireMinder TPMS kit on 4 trailer tires before driving about 3500 miles to Alaska. The kit proved excellent during the 7 days trip in various weather and road conditions. Pressure is easy to read, temperature is okay too (very sensitive, I might add), but the display dims even when the device is plugged into the USB port. What good is a monitor that is not visible during the day? I live in Florida, as they call sunny Florida. So why develop a product that automatically dims during the day? I received the Solar TireMinder yesterday and just installed it. Everything went perfectly. I installed the booster on the inside of a 30# propane cap to protect it from rain, even though it's advertised as waterproof. I used 2 4-40 stainless steel bolts and nuts. If you have a 2 axle camper trailer this is a great tire pressure monitoring system. Sensors are very easy to attach to any tire. The monitor display is easy to read. The display shows the exact pressure in each tire as well as the temperature of each tire. This information is important to avoid sudden explosions in your installation. The system is wireless.
