Refuel like an adult

If you hate smart gas canisters as much as I do, get them. They are amazing! To the few brats who can't pour gas like adults and are forcing the government to regulate gas cylinders: shame on you. Serious. They should be ashamed and embarrassed. Your carelessness has ruined the pleasure of refueling your lawnmower forever. I hope you cut the paper and spill gas on it. This is what you deserve.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Very expensive

Poor design, impossible to tighten enough to prevent copious leaks.

Cannot be tightened enough to stop leaks. The threads on the cap are too fine, causing it to "pop" out of the threads before it's tight enough to seal. The elastomer in the cap is thin but could potentially seal if tightened. I'll see if I can change another cap and find an o-ring to seal it if it works. WILL NOT work as intended. I gave it two stars as the spout looks functional if I can make a lid that fits and closes really snugly.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Empty

Poor Quality/Design Petcock/Gasket/Strainer

The brittle gasket material that sealed the outlet to the tank broke into several pieces and these pieces fell into the gas tank along with the filter screen included in the kit. Luckily there was no petrol in the tank. I wrapped the filter fabric with two layers of masking tape and carefully placed it in the spout. I installed the spout in a container without the black o-ring. It's not worth the hassle or time for a refund so I'll try to make it work.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Faulty

Good for casting - tools and equipment

I bought this to bypass the crappy new nozzles hoping it would be the best solution. When I first used it, it worked fine. However, on the second use, the nozzle came loose from the cap. The plastic around the seal is very thin, which has allowed it to come loose. I tried several times to attach it, but after that it started leaking every time. I finally gave up and reattached the old nozzle as I needed to drain the gas from the canister. I chose not to go back as it was already covered in gasโ€ฆ

TOO SOFT to be effective

Had a little trouble attaching to my jar - the strings on a lid are correct but difficult to start. Once the balloon was attached, it tilted so there was gas in the tube. Started dripping in the lid. Thought it just needed to be tightened. Tightened it up and the leak was still there. He removed the spout and found the deformation of the gasket and the flange of the spout was deformed. Gasket and flange are the most important areas affecting the gasket. Now buy a gas cylinder that allows you to

Cons
  • Reliability

Works but poor quality

UPDATE - I got a cheap plastic one. After 6 months the spout cracked at the bend (see photo). That's what happens with cheap plastic - it dries, hardens and cracks. Can't recommend - 2 stars. Previous rating: Works - barely - but well. Cheap flimsy plastic but <again> it works. The plastic gasket that came with mine (goes under the threads and in between the gas bottle opening and the spout) continues to slide freely and leak if I don't do it that way. And the spout screw cap keepsโ€ฆ

The childproof gas cartridge was a good idea. Implementation complete

The childproof gas bottle outlet was a good idea. The implementation involved, apparently, idiots. It seems that every modern gas canister overflows about three times before the childproof lock breaks. I poured gas without a spout, poured it all over the place, etc. So the protective device had exactly the opposite effect - good, very, very bad engineers. cheaper than a new gas canister (I tested them) and makes my idiot gas canisters just as useful as a 20 year old. It doesn't stop my kidsโ€ฆ

I was very disappointed

Neither cap fits the neck of my 2007 Wedco 5 gallon can. It was ok because I had a cap for a broken nozzle that was in there. I was very happy with the spout, the fact that it's a bit flexible but doesn't have an accordion like the picture and has a cap on top. I kicked it while the can was on the garage floor and it fell out completely. The flange is less than 1/4 inch and is made of plastic so brittle it's impossible to stay in a jar. then you really pour gas over everything. The cap at theโ€ฆ
