A great way to check if your mechanic is okay!

I bought this for a recently purchased Subaru Impreza Outback 97 2.2. The description says it may not work with all Subaru, so it worked for me. Just plugged it in, followed the instructions in the manual and was immediately notified as to why my check engine light was on. Fixed it without spending a dime on parts or labor and saved the time and money I would have paid by driving to the shop and paying the mechanic. What I really like is that I can dig under the hood in my free time and fix it…

Receives codes and clears codes at a reasonable price

I've read several reviews about the device being confusing with only 2 buttons. How confusing can that be? I read the instructions based on the reviews but I don't think I needed them. The top button is labeled Menu, which is basically a menu/select button, and the bottom button is labeled Scroll button, which is also a cancel button. Pretty logical if you ask me, the first button means yes and the second button means no. Can you tell me what the codes mean? OH NO! It's in the magazine but I…

Great scanner suitable for code readers and scan tools

I was a bit hesitant to buy this scanner after reading the reviews. I'm glad I decided not to base my decision on reviews alone. Decided to take a risk and bought at a very low price. As soon as I got the scanner I used it immediately because my check engine light was on. The scanner comes with a manual that explains what each code is. I checked the code against the manual and then gave my car to my friend who has one of the $200 OBDII scanners and found the same sensor fault as the one I…

Worth the price.

For the money, this is a great little scanner. Despite some translation errors, the instructions are actually very good and at the end there is a list of all the most common codes. The tool itself does what it says on the tin and the build quality is pretty good. The cable is long enough to use the reader in the driver's seat. If any of the previous reviewers found this confusing, it's possible that he or she didn't follow the instructions. Plug in the reader with the key in the off position…

Perfect for my use.

If you're at Revain and you want a $20 code scanner, chances are you're not a mechanic. A lot of the reviews here say there are better scanners out there and I suspect they are right. I'm not a mechanic, I'm just a person whose check engine light comes on regularly. Every time I take my truck to the shop they say it's a historic code and they don't worry. This scanner works well for me to check the code and make sure it's the same problem that keeps coming up. Most importantly, I can clear this
