💡 UView 413010 Leak Detection Light, Battery Powered with 6 LEDs Review

Good price. The switch in the base is a bit finicky. As with many lamps of this design, the end where the lens is located is easily mistaken for a switch. You can turn it on and off by twisting the end of the lens, but the smaller end of the lanyard is preferable. Not bright enough for daytime. I waited until it was completely dark to check for leaks. The photo shows my high pressure power steering hose.

Broke instantly - turned on once and died. Came with batteries installed. I turned it on once and it worked. I opened the battery compartment to check the battery type. I reinstalled the batteries. After that the light stopped working. Tried different batteries - still not working. Batteries were new, correctly aligned in the device. The lid at each end was securely fastened. Returning for a refund due to a defective product.

I used this to find an oil leak. First I had to pour half a bottle of dye into the engine crankcase and then drive the truck for a bit. This is a decent product and a reasonable price. I would recommend it or buy it again. However my concern is that this is a budget product and therefore the light is ok but not very strong. So it has to be done in a fairly dark place. But he does his job. One suggestion is to light test the area you think is leaking before adding/testing a fluorescent product. The engine has several components that fluoresce/light up normally. So it's difficult for me to determine what should have been glowing…

I had an oil leak on the back of the engine on my old Datsun which annoyingly persisted even after replacing the rear oil seal and oil pan gasket.
