Addictive crypto game with endless possibilities!

I am fairly new to Splinterlands, however completely addicted. Even without being on a blockchain this would be an amazing game, however its crypto integration is just another great reason to play.

My favourite parts 😀﻿

Being a crypto game means you actually own your cards, as well as every game action being verified on the blockchain. This is great in terms of transparency.

The game mechanics are simple to understand at the beginning, however soon you will realize that there is so much depth to the game. Since there are nearly endless card, mana and rule set combinations, there is always something new to try, leading to a game which is both fairly easy to pick up initially, but also leads to great depth for longer term players which I definitely see myself becoming!

There is a fairly low upfront cost of about $10 (~£7.70 for British folk like myself). Considering this is an extremely addictive and in-depth game, you really cannot complain at such a small investment leading to far greater amounts of fun. In addition, purchasing some cheap cards from the marketplace (which I did for around another $5) makes you so much more competitive if that is something you are interested in. However, I would note I'm not a great fan of the RNG packs, since while only $2, I do not like the prospect of paying for something when I do not know what I will get!

Off the back of this, being a game based around cards with a real life value, if you are savvy with your DEC and can rank well on the leaderboards, there are plenty of opportunities to make a bit of crypto while you're having fun!

My not so favourite parts 😪﻿

I'm all for a system to stop bots or certain players with a lot of time to dedicate to the game from soaking up a disproportionate amount of DEC (the in-game currency), however I must say it hurts when I get a losing streak and see my DEC capture rate draining without receiving any DEC! Being a fairly mediocre player, sometimes I find myself a few percentage points down with nothing to show for it, and must wait for it to regenerate so I do not lower the capture rate too much.

Great, addictive game for a great price. Should definitely check it out if you have any interest in crypto or card games; I can assure you you won't be disappointed!
