Constant freezes, horrible apps, no NVME or mSata cache

When it comes to freeing up space across multiple hard drives, this thing is a beast. energy efficient. It's a pity that mine kept hanging and stopping. If you want to use a cache drive, you have to do without the SATA port, nothing can be used on the board. Their native apps aren't the latest, which is why the support team is telling you to only use Docker. Guess what? Docker is supported by the third-party software Portainer. However, there is no guide on how to use Array through Portainer…

It would be great if tech support was fast.

Easy setup. I like the UI more than the Qnap I've used. However, I had an issue with their Surveillance Center app and their tech support is at a crawl. There are days between replies via their online ticketing system. And I'm still no closer to using the Surveillance Center app. I hope it gets better because otherwise I really like NAS. ***EDIT*** One star deducted. If you ever expect to get technical support for this product, forget it. Run far and run fast. I'll find out for myself. For the…

Works Network Attached Storage

It was an AS6104T upgrade. In terms of hardware specs per dollar, the AS5304T is hard to beat. The only area to complain about is the lack of SSD slots to improve NAS performance. As advertised by ASUSTOR, swapping drives from one device to another resulted in all my settings and data being migrated with no issues. Since I have yet to take advantage of the 2.5Gbe capabilities, there was no noticeable improvement in network file processing performance over the AS6104T. I suspect the AS5304T will

Easy to set up and use.

Asustor AS5304T delivered. I needed a new NAS and opted for 4K support as well as a faster processor and 2.5G Ethernet. Setup was a breeze with the mobile app, and adding hard drives was a breeze with no tools for the 3.5" drives and just a few screws for the 2.5" SSD, which I used as a cache added drive. EZ-Connect worked as advertised and I was able to access my NAS remotely with no further setup, no port forwarding or one-click utility setup rules, and bam I was able to log in. Even with…

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Annoying

First of all, I love ASUS/ASUStor hardware. I have several tablets, 3 routers, a monitor, an AS1002T NAS and an AS6004T NAS expander. Great hardware with high specs, but don't look for detailed documentation or, god forbid, post-purchase tech support, especially from ASUStor. ASUStor's only technical support option is email. Typically, a technician will send an email after about a day. Then do not hold your breath to take further action. The documentation, including ASUStor College, is a…

Great Value Media Ready NAS

After about 3 weeks of research, I settled on the Asustor AS5304T NAS for its features and flexibility. I was looking for a replacement for our aging HP Home Server where we store all our media for home distribution to various iOS and Windows devices. The AS5305T even handles 4k for an OLED TV and makes a great backup for PCs and laptops. PROS: Easy to set up - Feature rich with many applications - Can work with both SSDs and HDDs, but you lose a drive slot if you want SSD caching - Looks great
