Better Than Factory

I bought this to replace the felt mat that came with my Audio Technica turntable as original equipment. I didn't like the little dust and fibers that seemed to cling to the felt and transferred to my vinyl. This seems to be doing a great job so I think it was a good decision. I would do it again. Others have also said it helps with static, for me it's just an added benefit.

  • Feels Good

  • Disappears

I like it best in Turntables & Accessories

This rug is a game changer compared to a felt rug which appears to act like a vacuum cleaner. I could immediately tell the difference in sound quality and how little, if any, noise came from it, not to mention how well it handles your vinyl. The more you take care of your vinyl, the longer it will last. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to their standard mat or just wanting to upgrade it. Hudson Hi-Fi is a great company, I will be ordering from them again in theโ€ฆ

skip it; On the right track but not in the groove

Probably got a bad one. This is a good start to making a great mat. The edges are uneven and this creates an odd "roll" when spinning. There is no label cut-out, which sometimes causes significant wobble problems. Ring years and I can't take it off. I do not know. It's cheap, it's good. However, the product quality seems low for what I received. After trying these, I would go with the recessed label mat.

  • I like everything so far

  • You could have chosen a newer model

It really helps

Maybe I'm crazy but I think it was an improvement over the stock felt mat on my turntable. First, the mat (like the records) doesn't get fluffy anymore (especially the cat hairs that float around when I put on a dust cover) and I definitely get less static electricity. I also feel like the bass gets a bit tighter when using this matte (again, maybe I'm crazy). The only downside was that the Revain folded the mat in half when packing so I had to spend a lot of time getting it perfectly flat asโ€ฆ

Significantly increases static!

I really wanted to like this rug. Visually, it is light years ahead of the anti-slip mat I replaced. There were also clear differences in sound. Here the good news ends. With new records, pieces of cork keep breaking off, which makes the B-side unplayable without significant cleaning, as well as static charging. I cannot describe how much the static charge has increased! There have been instances where I ALSO LIFTED THE CORK MAT when lifting the disc off the platter. Seriously, the mat stuck to

A definite improvement over the supplied mat

I bought this cork/rubber mat to replace the supplied felt mat with my AT-LP60 and after two years of use I have nothing but good things to say about it. I can't say I really noticed a difference in sound quality with my low-end setup, but what I immediately noticed was that a cork mat generates far less static electricity than a felt mat, which helps greatly in reducing the amount of dust you are attractive. . The felt often got caught on the bottom of the record when I went to pick it up, but

This is a stylish rug

This is a well made rug at a good price. Unlike the felt mat that came with my turntable, this one doesn't attract static electricity and therefore dust and hair. Looks cool too. Now let me tell you the hard truth. If you think the matte on your turntable significantly affects the sound quality, you are either: a) very inventive b) wrong c) both If you are looking for ways to improve the sound quality of your recordings, you should look you elsewhere. I think a new pickup, amp, turntable and/or

but it also doesn't add noise to the recording like felt

It's well done. The mixture of cork and rubber gives it a unique look. It had a very slight crease when it was unpacked, so I placed it on the turntable with the curve of the crease (middle, near the spindle) facing up. Then I put a 180 gram record on top and put a BigBen weight on top. It flattened immediately and has stayed flat ever since. It attracts far less dirt and dust than Audio Technica's standard felt mat, is easier to dust off, and doesn't seem to add nearly as much staticโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • For retirees
