Easy to install and save tons of money!

2006 Nissan Xterra - I was a bit nervous working on this. I don't normally do this kind of work on my machine, but after reading some of the reviews on YouTube and other sites I didn't find it too difficult. I decided to give it a try and now I can say I'm REALLY glad I did. It really wasn't a difficult setup. Took me probably 1.5 hours, just paying attention to how all the door skins and panels come off. After that it was really very easy. My engine isn't quite dead yet, but it's running low…

Minor hook problem but otherwise works great

HOOKS DID NOT FIT EXACTLY but worked. I've read other similar reviews so that's what I was expecting. The 2 hooks that hold the motor to the frame (while you unscrew/unscrew it to secure it) were about 1/4" smaller in diameter. This meant I could only hook it on one side while the other hooks dangled freely. Which ALSO meant I couldn't get all 3 bolts in because they were misaligned. But you can still make it work! I was still able to align 2 of the 3 bolts to attach the motor to the frame to…

Works as advertised for 2005 Nissan Frontier

I purchased a Dorman motor and controller for my 2005 Nissan Frontier NISMO with auto lowering (driver's window). My window was very slow and sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. In the end he was on the verge of total failure. After trying to replace the driver's door control box for over $100 and it didn't work, I figured there was only one other possibility (besides a short or some other problem), and that was the motor. I was hesitant to buy thinking it might not work and I have heard…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No automatic controls

2006 Xterra, perfect fit

I've never replaced this type, but when I got into it it wasn't that hard. The right spare part made the job easier. It arrived well packaged and in great condition, with a lot of grease already on it. Now there's probably a professional Nissan certified mechanic who will tell me I did it wrong, but here's how I got the job done. The tools I needed were: - a small flathead screwdriver (for removing the doorknob and loosening the wiring harnesses) - a large Phillips screwdriver - a 10mm socket…

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great purchase and decision. Patience and not-so-simple tools

I've been waiting for warm weather to do this driver's side regulator replacement project as it involves removing the trim, trim, and electrical connections all off They are plastic/nylon and can click in the cold. Also on my project, a '05 XTerra, there is a thin sheet of foam insulation taped with butyl tape (windshield sealant) that needs to be removed - warm weather (or a heated garage) and careful separation will prevent that this insulation cracks. This and removing the power window…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some bugs
