💧 Floodstop XS-01: Enhance Your Water Appliance Safety with Additional Water Sensor Review

Place one outside of the Westland PI-24 24" x 23.75" drain pan and the FS 3/4-H90 version 4 supplied with the washing machine plug, inside the drain pan and straps and braces for any leaks . Bought 2 of these to add to an existing flood defense device in our basement. Purchased a 2 wire "phone cord" to daisy chain additional wires about 50 feet from the originally installed sensor. This is not like a simple open/close dry/wet loop. Must use floodstop resistance measurement. I bought to connect to my alarm system's transmitters which can work with a simple normally open/normally closed circuit. I checked the continuity of the water supply and it stayed closed both dry and wet, so my only guess is that the flood protection device is measuring the changing resistance in ohms to determine if water is present. Product basically works as advertised but there are some issues. First, both washers that came with it failed. This defeats the purpose as it means that the connection between the valve and the pipe is leaking. So you may have a major leak and this device is the cause, not the solution.
