Tiny Hut Leveling 12' x 12' New Floor in Alaska

This is our second purchase of this item. This summer (2015) we built a small cabin in Alaska. On this level we laid all four corners of the new floor. Actually, I could do all the alignment myself with a tape measure and a piece of paper. Once the corners were aligned, the installation was automated! There is no need for a 4 or 8 foot carpentry.

Indoor use only

I ran a small shop and needed a laser level for occasional use during assembly. This level works well indoors and outdoors after sunset. You don't see it at all during the day. I made the necessary marks at sunset/dawn and then measured against them the rest of the day. It projects a fairly accurate line within about 30 feet. If you use it much further, the laser line will widen. It feels very light but holds up well and the case is very good at keeping the device clean and secure.

Super, great case but light!

So what can I say. He's doing his job. I'll give a brief overview of the pros and cons. You have to use red glasses to see the beam, but it works from the outside!) Has a tripod. Hard case is a better deal than most (most reticles have sheaths wrapped in cloth. Fur) Head has degrees on mount and can rotate freely Red goggles help a lot in bright light. Cons: The tripod is very light, so adjusting the beam can cause the tripod to move. The tripod is short (4ft 8in fully extended to the center of

Exceeds Expectations - Johnson Crossline Laser Level

I purchased this to install over 80 feet of vinyl track (commercial chair railings). It was an area visible from afar and a regional training center. It had to be perfect. After setting up the device and climbing with a tripod (which was very easy), I checked the lines with my four-foot Stabila Level. They were upstairs. I checked the horizontal line on the ceiling grid (which was installed with a $600+ rotating laser). The horizontal line was spot on over a 44 foot run. Not even 1/16 inch at…

Great very short tripod

I used it to install 120 TV wall mounts in a college dorm. That made the job very easy. We arranged with the contractor to have a wooden backing board fitted to the location of the TV so we could easily line up and screw in the brackets without having to figure out where the studs would be. Using a drilling template and this laser level, we were able to install 1 TV mount every 5 minutes. The Bad: The tripod only lifts 4 feet, maybe a little more. Well, the simple solution would be to buy…

You get what you pay for - should be cheaper

At this price point you can't expect a powerful (green) laser that is visible in daylight. Or a sturdy construction to withstand bumps and bruises on the job site. This laser is useful and probably suitable for Tim Taylor style DIY work. Of course you may need to draw shadows to avoid too much sunlight - not such a bad compromise in my opinion. As for outdoor use - once the sun goes down you can use it from about 20, maybe 30 feet (maybe more) away and for my application it was sufficient…

great for the price and for home use

I'm glad to have found an inexpensive cross laser - with tripod and hard case. I'm a hobbyist so I give 5 stars. I did not get the impression that this device would perform well on the job site or with regular use in harsh environments. It's great for me because I put shelves and cabinets on walls that don't touch. and even with the long traditional leveler it was almost impossible to level things satisfactorily. LASER LEVEL - excellent. Seems very accurate and hangs on shutdown. TRIPOD - good.

Works great for what it was designed for

I've had this kit for over a year now and saved the review for when I first used this tool. I have no complaints about him. I have used it in home remodeling and audio visual work in both residential and commercial settings. The red glasses are cool, they make it easier to find the laser, the visual feedback is stronger. and defined; they do NOT comply with safety requirements for construction sites, they are not intended to protect the eyes, only to improve the visibility of the laser beam. I…

Great bathroom tile laser

My set first arrived without batteries. Thanks Revain for the correct solution! I received it yesterday and I love it. For the money, this is a great laser for the homeowner. My need for this is to install tiles in my house as a DIY project. More than enough for this level. If you are a contractor I would recommend switching to hard work. This device is not amplified. I've seen some complaints about the tripod being too short and having proprietary screw mounts. The tripod is short but perfect…

The laser is barely visible on the street

Let's start with what I like. I like the laser protection case. Like the tripod because it was mostly free. I like the latch to isolate the laser when moving or storing. I like that there are instructions in English. I like the fact that the instruction manual shows how to recalibrate the laser. I like the overall design and the ease of use of the device. Now let's get to the things I don't like. SCARE THE LASER! Batteries were not included in the kit and according to the manual they are for…
